While looking at the What are you reading? Conversation I thought "Braden, you have a pile of books that the good people of this community would enjoy and they have many that I would enjoy". I propose to send any of you a book if you will send me one. I will send you anything that I have but many I will want to have returned. I have a lot of history, military, aviation, maritime, weapons, hunting, fishing, science , science fiction and biographical books.
My suggestion? Create a google doc spreadsheet that people can add their books too and if someone wants to "check one out" they can put there name beside the title and contact the owner to get it sent to them.
Count me in no matter how you do it.
I'll try to get something set up by next week. If somebody just wants me to send them something that I like I'm willing to do that too. Just give me a subject and I can make a recommendation.
Braden
I wish I had thought of this years ago. I've sent quite a few good books to the church yard sale over the past several years.
I have a bunch I'd be willing to do this with. Mostly fiction action and crime drama books.
Ooh-ooh-oooh! I have a ton of aviation literature. Some quite rare and obscure. I'm in.
I have the sky Beyond written by Sir Gordon Taylor ready to go. It is a story of a man flying in New Zealand and Australia he starts flying between World War 1 & 2 and does a lot of exploratory flights many using the pby Catalina. He was the navigator on the first flight from New Zealand to Australia. The airplane was a Fokker tri-motor. One of the wing mounted engines lost a piece of the propeller blade and had to be shut down. Hours later the other Wing mounted engine begins to lose oil pressure. Taylor goes out on a strut drains oil from the dead engine and transfers it to the operating engine.
Someone make me an offer of a book to trade. I will put mine in a box and include return postage inside if you'll do the same. Thank you ,Braden
