Ive recently been visited by my works IT department and informed I need to stop looking at gun forums at work. Apparently our web filter pics up on thread titles and that plus the two gun threads I've accidentally clicked on due to unexpected thread content have nearly gotten GRM added to the blocked category of guns and ammo. There are plenty of places on the internet to discuss all things 2nd amendment can we keep GRM safe from this? Until I see a decrease in these posts I am forced to use my phone for all GRM surfing as I don't want to get it blocked at work in case it improves.
While I'm at it can we be a little beter about what we hotlink and from where into threads other than the hotlink thread. I know not to click on it and the good god thread at work but I assume others to be safe.
Insert I couldn't love GRM more mene here.

ha. maybe you should be working instead.
same issues for me as for op. anything with guns or ammo in the title gets blocked by the server.
Wow, really? Not very American of your company huh? I could read gun stuff all day and it wouldn't trigger any filters.

yinz should beg for a filter that changes those words... i suggest changing them to slingshot and rocks.
Maybe we come up with some sign........... oh yea NSFW(GUNZ)
I think The Answer is AK-47, who disagrees?
Really? We need to jump though hoops talking about something perfectly legal because of one company's overzealous web filtering? That doesn't seem right to me. And I've never participated in any gun threads here, so I have no dog in this fight. In addition, my company just decided to start blocking the E30 board R3Vlimited for some reason. Whatever, I surf it on my phone or at home. No big deal.

Let’s refer to them as a “gub” in tribute to Woody Allen’s “Take the Money and Run” movie.

First it's boobz. Then it's religion. Then it's politcz. Then it's gunz. Next... who knows.
How about.... you WORK while at work, and worry about what YOU are doing and leave the rest of us the hell alone.

On a side note at work I have a 42 inch TV with all the channels and use my own laptop so I can surf anything I want. I also have Twinkies there.
What was that? Second Amendment?
...gay slur

You won't have those Twinkies for long...
Hey I never said I have a problem with discussions of guns however if these discussions continue GRM will get added to my works filter as a Gun site. I'm going to guess since its an off the shelf filter product that could get it added to other filters which may not be what the owners of this automotive forum want. That's all.
Saying I should get to work is just silly. Yeah your right anyone at work should be working so let's do away with any form of filtering. That's reasonable

Yeah I know I put a box out by the coffee pot a week after they announced they were shutting down and I swear it was like a pack of wild dogs hit them
I have a couple stashed in my desk and sold several boxes on ebay

Very interesting stuff as my work also blocks all gun related material. Getting added to filters as a no no site could potentially be bad for a business such as grm. My company employs around 250k people worldwide. That is a hell of an audience to walk away from.

It is water that weighs about 11% more than regular water. It used to be called deuterium oxide.

Seriously dude. They are now paying attention to how much of the company's time you're stealing. Try being productive from now on if you're not supposed to be surfing the internet.
