8th?

Yeah last series HP made those races frustrating
Well, that was a weird race for a few of us for sure with not seeing everyone. Third ain't bad considering I never knew that invisible aircooled passed me LOL
Oh well, on to SS5! and this time, if I don't see anyone, i'm going to get out and come back in to see if that fixes it, i'm so far having luck with seeing everyone in practice.
Don't worry Nick, you can drop your 2 lowest finishes... 3rd shouldn't hurt you too bad
Actually, I thought you had second until I checked the results and watched the replay. aircooled kept that Europa clean the whole race.
Did anyone else get a copy of the replay? I would be interested to see if another copy of the replay shows all cars or just the one's which were viewable during the race.
haha i'll settle for 3rd and yeah so did I haha until I found out that aircooled flew by me so quickly I didn't even see him he kept it clean because no one knew where he was in the track LOL
My replay just shown you, me, chimp, and mini.
That is strange that you didn't see me, I was RIGHT behind you in a lot of places.
I guess it was good I didn't get to aggressive. I wonder what would have happened if we traded some paint (like me cutting in front when I passed you both on the front straight). Would you hit an invisible wall? Or would it only effect me?
Were there any issues in the MX5 race or just SBC?

no issues as far as I know, but for me it was only you 4 guys running for both races is all I had encountered. I guess it's just everyones connectivity.
looks like the last guy had the same issue we had lol
Im having trouble finding the rhythm at route 5 through the back section, like turns 2 ish through 5ish
I still haven't tried it hahah
Spent all weekend ice racing, so I should have a good handle on the lack of traction.
My best lap time so far is a 2:52 something. Usual times are :54-:56. I'm sure it is possible that the fastest lap times can be :48-:50, but not by me and not in my car.
Lots of walls. It is not bad doing laps by yourself or even with one other, but I think when there are 8 or 9 of us it will be a different story.
EDIT: I fixed my post. I was off by 10 seconds - got confused between SBC and MX5 times. These times in my post are SBC times.
MX5 times faster than that.
My times were from my MX5... I haven't started working on the Mini yet.
@Dave - real racing > virtual racing
of course Brad!
Yeah I forget what my MX5 time was. TJ and I were banging out some practice a few times, I got a 1:50 for the SBC.
Brad in my battle against understeer I tried running comfort hards on the rear and mediums on the fronts. It sorta worked in that I could get oversteer at times, but my overall times were slower so I ended that experiment. Just an idea if you want to try it.
It was the only trick left to tune out the understeer I think. I've worked with spring rates, shocks, roll bars, LSD settings, toe and ride height. I can still pretty much go straight on any turn by flooring the gas.
I should really get on practicing! Paper writing and reading has taken all of my free time so far this week, and probobly will until thursday (but i'll still make the race! probobly...)

Might be an interesting test. I've got my Mini fairly neutral at most times. Being FF it does suffer from power-on understeer. I can share with you my setup if you are interested?
I started with some fairly wild setups, like having tow out on the rear to try and create oversteer, but it just made the car drive erratic. So I started over and kept it tame and produced better results. I think with 20 more HP I could be (more) competitive in SBC.
I put my primary efforts into MX5, then after I am satisfied I put whatever time I have left in SBC.
I think I am currently running the marcos on the "fairly wild setup". I have toe out at the rear and have the rear ride height set way higher than the front. The thing that seems to help the most getting the car to rotate was to mess with the brake bias and I think I know have been running more rear brake than front. I'll send you my setup too if you want to see what I've been running.

Maybe I should take a page from your book on this. I have put about 5 minutes into the setup on my MX5 car. I made no adjustments from last week to this week eventhough the track is a lot different. I think it is because I've spent more time trying to solve my SBC car that in comparison the MX5 is so much easier to drive that I just don't mess with it. I'm guessing my setup is not ideal, but I think it is close enough for me.
Here are my Mini's settings (as of today)...
Suspension:
RH: -15 / -15
SR: 11.2 / 9.4
DE: 8 / 7
DC: 7 / 6
AR: 7 / 1
CA: 2.0 / 0.0
TA: -0.25 / 0.00
Diff:
IT: 10
AS: 25
BS: 25
I left gearing off, I have to keep some secrets, but I hope this helps!
Where's the list of SBC cars eligible? I'm level grinding right now, trying to get back in the swing of things and get some money. Up to level 15 in a-spec, 5 in b-spec i think. Hoping to be set to go by race day.

The list is on a tab in the Admin spreadsheet. You should have plenty of coin to join in, if not or you can't find the car you want let me know and I'll try and help you out.
You'll need to log in to post.
