Sadly, both times i wanted to use this paint I had to kill a Tuscan. Luckily, they aren't too pricey, so I can buy as many as I want for the paint.

To be honest, if I could, I'd go even more gaudy, but I can't figure out how... If only they had plaid paint...

oh right there's the update today. Unfortunately, I have to disconnect my computer from the internet to hook up my ps3 (router broke, and i'm too lazy to go get another one).

Ok new update news- they brought Performance points back, you can now add power limiters to you engine, and add ballast to your car. Appearantly you can also set alot more limits and stuff on online racing (i haven't tried). Will this in any way adjust the rules for this upcomming series? For example, i've seen darn few cars that are as light as the 450 kg lower limit of the SBC class, and that might influence people to choose from a smaller number of cars. perhaps we could set a performance points limit in there as well? or raise the minimum weight so that a larger range of cars would be competitive, but the smaller cars could still compete with ballast?

and as a side note, I not only got 7 museum cards for signing on, but 7 paint items as well

ahhh ok, I wasn't sure if you just went nuts gifting paint to me lol Yeah I saw all that, I want to find out what the online features added are but that PP system ought to be interesting like you said with the ballast and such.

Also I noticed controller steering sensitivity along with a power limiter, sweet! That can help with out power levels and weight restrictions because we can use more cars, all we do is detune them a bit

and also it debuged that bug where if your save file was over some amount it killed it off, whew, thank you!!

I hated Prologues use of Performance points, it was terribly unrealistic "pick how much HP you want your car to have".

I've experimented with several cars in SBC, and part of the method to my madness was trying to force a compromise between power and weight. The lightest cars can't make as much power, the most powerful cars can't get to minimum weight. The idea was to create a varied field where competitors have different strengths and weaknesses. If PP ruins that I will be upset.

I'll play with it a bit and see what impact this update will have, and then we can figure out what to do about it.

Gift the car. Then the paint chip will show up in Nick's paint chip list. Then he can gift the same car back to Rufledt and then he will have the paint chip in his list as well. I think you could pass the same car back and forth every day and build up as many paint chips as you want. You can also make a second account and gift them back and forth to yourself.

I'm not sure about this, but I think if you gift a car that has been painted, I think the original color is what gets added to the recipient's paint chip library for some reason and not the current color of the car.

I wish I would've saved the Matte Orange paint chip I picked up (I think from having some number of cars in my garage). Turns out people will trade entire cars for a matte orange paint chip. Too bad I painted my GRM MX-5 Cup car with it instead of trading it for a 787B.

Ok, so I've looked at the new updates (PP, etc) this morning. I don't think I am going to use them for our league. However, there are a couple changes:

SBC: - Min weight: 500kg - Max HP: 207

Using the new ballast and engine limiter you might be able to do a few things, but I don't forsee it having a major impact on our league.

Yeah, saw that about the points system update, interested in taking a peek at it this weekend. Does it allow you to under-weight a car? I think the 500kg limit might be too low, you don't want Spec Elan.

Wow this kind of sucks about that. So no MX5 cup? And my Izuzu seems to work out with all the rules haha

I just bought an Elan last night - thought it may be better than the 2002 turbo for the SBC.

Nick, I think you misread something. I think Brad was saying that he doesn't think he will use the PP system - don't think he said anything about there not being an MX5 Cup.

MX5 Cup is still on... ?

The new update allows you to add ballast, not remove weight (beyond what is available in the Tuning Shop). I actually don't think anyone is going to get down to 500kg, there are only a few cars that are close enough and they only have like 30hp..

I've not decided on the car I will run yet, but in my testing the closest I've come is a car that weighs 577kg and has 186hp, so the limit is just a barrier.

If I am wrong and didn't notice something in the patch let me know, but I think we should be good with the rules as updated. The only reason for the update was the numbers are what the online lobby lets me set. I can't go lower than 500kg, and the closest HP figure to 200 is 207. Since there is an extra 7 hp available, I wanted it to be known in case the car you are prepping needs to use the cushion.

Exactly... you can EITHER use PP or HP/Weight... we'll keep it as is.

Oh ok, wasn't sure. I was thinking the power limiter and ballast will help the grm class as you can detune and add weight to your already tuned cars.

Yeah the MX5 cup still is up. The thing I'm wondering is, can I put some lightweight stuff and maybe some simple performance stuff and just detune? Or is it really Spec?

The SBC class seems to be a worry although I was able to tune and fully lose weight to full with my Izuzu and it's all in Spec still

Per the rules on page 1... no engine mods, not weight reduction... spec... the only thing you are allowed to do is an oil change. You can add aero, suspension, drivetrain and play with those to your hearts content.

SBC is going to be tougher than I originally thought.

I still need to work on my Series II cars (clearly you guys put more time in on this then me). I will try to pick out some sort of outrageous color for my MX5. We should make sure to post our colors so that we don't have any duplicates. I am considering some sort of purple.

If I thought I'd be more competitive I would've painted mine with the hideous shade of pink that I have. But I figure I'll be at the back of the pack so at least had to make my car look ok. (Matte Orange for me).

200 Hp in a BMW 2002 turbo is a handul. I'm hoping the elan is easier to drive.
