My internet is spotty at best. Perhaps sacrificing a goat or something is required? Nothing else seems to work.

Ballast. It's even useful to move the ballast around to cure the oversteer, though it doesnt help much. I may switch to the cosmo though because of my rotary love

I nearly cured my wayward Elan handling with ballast. It just takes a lot of fiddling and testing.

Internet: Mine just works. I never did anything to it.

Nick, are you connecting through a wifi router or a hard line?

Nick, who is your provider?

Nick is your provider dropping you or is a problem between your PS3 and router? Does your computer have connection problems?

I assigned a static IP address to my PS3 and did the port forwarding and since that it seems to work better than before. With dynamic IP address I would sometime randomly drop off line.

Last night was fun, eventhough I spent the whole time in the back of the pack. No, that's not really correct, I wasn't even in the pack most of the races. Maybe I'll spring for a wheel and see if that helps.

I'd love a wheel setup now, especially after the Laguna race haha

My provider is Frontier and it seems to stay connected on my netbook but it's spotty with my moms laptop, my iphone, and the PS3 it seems. We have a Belkin router and i'm wirelessly connected. I even changed the DNS numbers and that seemed to work but then it started to seem to do it again. How do you give it a static IP address?

What's weird is, it was working fine, I moved the router from below the desk in the other room to on top and I had NO problems last night until a few hours later, which it always anyway seems to kick you off after a long time playing.

I've noticed sometimes wireless routers get hot when a number of things are connected and thats when it gets spotty. Also I've noticed some routers hate ps3s for some reason. Maybe just plug the modem right into the ps3 and eliminate the middle man? that's what I do and it works ok for the most part.

query, can we use power limiting to reach the goal of 207hp?

I think even with the power limiter, rules stand to if your car is at 190 and adding that mod goes to 210 it's not allowed, is I think what it comes out to

@NickF40... I would try DD-WRT on your router. I did it some time ago to my Linksys and it has made a massive improvement. The router is more stable and signal strength is up throughout the house.

@DaveEstey... The spirit of the rule is that you mod your car up to the limit, not over mod and then use the limiter to get back down to the correct values.

@Everyone... So, I learned something new (not necessarily related to this series). The "Gran Turismo Everywhere" feature is now available. You should make a B-Spec Bob and choose "Share with Friends". This lets anyone in your friends list race against your Bob. Why do this? Because Win, Lose or Draw your Bob collects rewards and experience that you can cash in when you take him offline. It is a good way to grind without having to grind. When I logged in this morning my Bob's had collected nearly $500k. It was the most useful they've ever been!

I was using it more to shape the power band and make the delivery a little different. But I'll back the car down and futz with it to get it where I want it.

My PSN name is TheDerve

A few notes on the MX5 series, gleaned from last nights test run:

I thought the field of cars would end up looking like a gumball machine, but based on what mine and Monkeyboy's look like it's going to look a lot more like a heard of angry pimps!

It looks like it will be some pretty close racing, we had a good pack going last night and a fair number of position changes.

These cars are definitely more turn then go, conservation of energy will likely win the day.

The MX5 is capable of rather large controllable tail slides (from what I saw and experienced). As a side note, they are strangely hard to setup for oversteer.

Tire wear will be MUCH less of an issue for this series. I did 6 laps with some pretty good drift action at points, and I don't think I noticed any real wear.

A note on the Everywhere feature: Apparently you can check your "Bob's" race progress (and control him?) online.

Doesn't appear that you can control him, just add him to a race and let him fair how he does. Only good news about this is that no one else has control either. It's a good way to grind. I work from home, so I can just click "go" every 20ish minutes and everyone makes money. Unless you are really interested in playing B-Spec mode, I can't think of a reason to not do this.

Yeah, apexcarver needs to pimp up his car a bit more! his actually looks nice!

I kinda wish there was a paint-the-top choice on convertibles, or that would certainly be gold for me, and If i could replace my helmet with a snake skin cowboy hat, and get a fuzzy purple steering wheel cover, and...

Not sure if this was previously covered but there are some cars that aren't on the eligibility list that exist in the game and meet all the other SBC requirements.

Isuzu 117 Coupe Isuzu Bellett 1600 Mitsu Lancer 1600 GSR

Are these allowed or no?

Yes. I didn't have a method to find all of them. Just let me know if I missed one that you want to run.

Random post on the internet said: A new update has been released for Gran Turismo 5. The main contents of the update are as follows: [Major Changes and New Features] Friend Rankings In Drift Trials and Time Trials, you can now display leaderboards that shows only your friends. While it was difficult before to locate your friends in the general leaderboards, this now makes it easier to compare your lap times and points with them.

Looks like we may be able to have an online leaderboard?
