haha that's great!
Yeah, that french lil bastard is fast!
I don't have a picture of my car for the MX5 series, but I do have a picture of the driver:
Straight up pimpin' beeeeoootch!
I have been planning on a Lancer GSR, but this morning I started playing around with the Mini Marcos and I might switch. Almost the same lap times and I think I can be more consistent with the Marcos. I have to re-learn a few corners for FWD still.
I really wanted the Alfa, but despite a lighter weight than the Lancer I get slower lap times in it.
There's another car! Honda 1300 Coupe 9 S ‘70
I bought it but don't feel like messing with it, could be a good one though. They had dry sump lubrication stock!
Oh sorry Brad i've been busy but i'm planning on using the Alfa Giulia and I think my schedule should have me home for most of the races this series
Dunno if I'll make it tonight, maybe MX-5, probably wont' be home by SBC.
Oh, and I think I'm gonna rock the Golf for SBC; thought about the Marcos, too, glad to see someone will have it out there.
Been trying to learn this track, I think I am getting there though.
Anyone else have a SBC practice time to share? I am in the 2:45.0" range.
BTW, there has been another update since the last race, it isnt a huge one, but worth knowing to give yourself a few extra minutes to get it.
2:44-2:45 is a decent laqptime for me. My fastest (in practice) was 2:41, and I've pulled a few 2:42-2:43's. My problem is that every few laps I like to post a 2:54 or so. I like this track - should be fun.
I think my fastest lap has been a 2:45.9, but I tend to cruise around more in the 47s. I am no where close to a 41. The Mini just doesn't have that kind of pace to it.

I only pulled that sort of lap once. I think it was some sort of magic that happened. I was chasing a ghost replay of a miata for about 20 laps. The ghost lap was 2:41 something and I just kept going until I passed him at the line. Probablly never to be repeated (at least by me).
I'll be happy to not be last tonight. I suffer from the red mist I guess and tend to endup in the sand by trying the impossible pass.
Yeah tonight's gonna be interesting.
I'm going to apoligize now, if you have trouble seeing through smoke, i'm sorry
I'll break out the Frenchie and run off a few laps to see what my times are. I don't remember from the other night.
I've been playing roundy round all day in NASCAR so it may take some time to get out of turn left mode.
That's ok Dave - stay in left turn only mode it will be better for the rest of us. I figure I'll only see you at the start and if you lap me.
I just took a quick final practice in both cars, both have been washed and oil changed and are ready for the start of the series tonight.
The Mini is running in the 47s with wicked understeer in random corners each lap. A clean lap should result in 45s.
The MX5 at 9/10ths can run low 35s all day. If I press I should be in the mid 33s. Anyone else have a time to share so I can figure out if I need more practice?
I don't think tires are going to be much of an issue this series. I've run 20 lap simulations and haven't really seen too much wear. Maybe PD will give us a tire / gas accelerator at some point so that we can force pit stops and race strategy.
Softies will wear quicker and honestly, I wasn't paying attention to my times haha I was too busy trying to keep it under control
5 laps in the A110 2:42 2:45 (off course) 2:42 2:42 2:43
I honestly think I can get it faster. Braking is the hard part as the car likes to swap ends (yay rear engine!)

The Marcos likes to understeer as well. I got a lot of it tweaked out, but I set up the R2 trigger as my E-brake for my plan B to get the car to rotate when I enter a corner too fast. There are 2 or 3 corners that give me fits - I don't think I hardly ever get them just right. I wish we could adjust tire pressure along with all the other settings. Getting the tire pressures right make my real Mini nicely balanced.
Here is a pic of me right after I got my magical lap. (Yes, that is a pic of Bishop Pickering after his best golf round ever.)
