The Jag is a ridiculous monster. If i could keep tires on it, that's what i would have used. The torque curve out of that thing is unbelievable.

What's the schedule for these races dudes!? I would be interested in trying to make it

The E55 is like that, only more so, and it has the added bonus of handling like crap.

I'll probably be at work til 6, then gotta figure out dinner situation. I'm feeling lazy and want pizza, so that might not be a hard situation to overcome.

Wednesday, Wednesday, Wednesday!!

Yes that right, tonight at 9 Easter (6 pacific, 7 mountain, 8 central) the chase for the 4Loko GT Cup and the American Bacon Council Saloon Cup moves to the Tidy Bowl High Speed Ring. The Tidy Bowl Ring features lots of high speed turns and more high speed turns for lots of high speed turn action! All high speed turns tonight are brought to you by 4 Hour Energy.

Some highlights of the Tidy Bowl High Speed Ring:

  • Turn 1: Drivers will need to stay off the bricks on the outside! Otherwise they will get flushed into the guardrail ("good one Bob") and find themselves limping to the pits.

  • Turns 4 and 5: Drivers will need get hard on the brakes to take these corners slow, lest they "wipe" out into the outside wall ("good one Frank"). They also need to be very easy on the gas coming out of 5 or they might find themselves drifting into tire smoke land.

  • Turn 7: The toughest corner on the course. Drivers need to get slowed down for the corner but also make sure they exit with good speed for the straight. Again, they need to stay off the brick on the outside! And they also have to be real careful again getting on the gas on the exit.

Did you gift your car to Nick? If so do you have it back yet and have you tried it? Your GT car seemed to be fast enough on the straights. I'm not sure what was going on in the turns. This track truly is deceiving in that it looks simple but it surely isn't. Was your Saloon car keeping up on the straights? I drafted by you one time and had to focus on what I was doing so I couldn't tell how it was doing. If you'll find what speed YOU can run in YOUR cars and run that speed lap after lap, you won't crash. Likely as not as you keep on trucking, others will crash. Just hope it ain't me, lol. Anyway, we have a depleted field right now and we need you there. I hope Autolex and RMD show up too. Anyway, good luck tonight.

I just wanted to remind everyone that damage and penalties were turned off last night and tonight they'll be on. We all got away with murder last night. If we bounce off each other and the walls like that tonight . . . . . well, you know.

On the one hand, practicing together like we have the last two races gives away anything you've found that works to help you increase your pace but since both of these tracks feature long straights, finding out how the draft comes into play BEFORE the race will give us all much needed knowledge that we can't get any other way. On the street and other courses that are coming up, I don't suppose that practicing together will be so necessary. I could see that we all learned a lot last night.

Air, and Celica - Grizz, Nick, and I had several unbelievable races after you two left last night. I'd say that all three cars were equal on this track. Nick's Mustang is particularly surprising and he was driving the wheels off of it. We all three were. Unless one of us screwed up we could stay nose to tail for the whole race. This brings up the fact that running side by side through the turns is particularly difficult. Since we're all going to be right on the edge of traction, the slightest bump can put you into the wall. (sorry Grizz) Going to be a barn burner guys.

The GT car is fast as hell on that track. If i can get a clean lap, which is about once every three.

It's either ludicrously fast (not talking smack, but it's the fastest car there), or it's crashing. There's no grey area.

The Saloon car is slow on that track, i'm not sure what's up with it. It was REALLY fast on SS7, but i can't get it to break 180mph on HSR. The GT on the other hand, with 100 less HP, is hitting 187mph on HSR WITHOUT a draft.

It's just that last corner for GT that kills it for me. I can either hit it just right and be going 140mph by the time i exit, or i can hit it wrong and hit the INSIDE wall nose first. Speed doesn't seem to be the problem, it's just that there's literally a small portion of the track where it's "OK" to enter, and the rest is off limits.

But yes, i gifted it to Nick, not sure if i got it back yet, didn't fire up the PS3 before i went to work. Last time he tuned one of my cars, i couldn't drive it at all afterwards, though.

That seems to be the case with these cars in general, especially the Saloon cars. It's also what makes it interesting, brings in a lot of strategy.

On this track you run a fine line between: Fast, Wall, and Roasted Tires. It's a classic risk vs reward setup. How much do you want to risk?

There is also the issue of getting a bit brain dazzled by doing 20 laps. At least the course is pretty easy on the eyes (not busy).

4Loko Air, Sponsers don't like it when you misspell the names of their products.

Last nights practices were interesting. I have no idea what the Commodore will do tonight, because last night I ran it with minimum aero and the trans still set up for SS7. Oops.

GT, my car is slower than everyone elses car, but appears to be quicker. I do know I can power through turns 1,2,3,6,7 at full throttle with no problems, but I'm slow through 4 and 5. Probably because I can't keep that car at the speeds it needs to go through those corners(75 for 4. 80ish for 5) without going too fast and ending up with some tire in the grass.

You're faster in 4 and 5 than i am, then. My limit is around 75mph for both.

GT: DB9 did quite well. Whoever spyhunter is, I'm sorry you came down and I didn't move, but I was already down as far as that car was willing to go at that speed and I couldn't get out of the way. I didn't mean to PIT maneuver you, honest. For a few laps in the middle, I don't know if I was lagging or someone else was, but any car I could see was jumping all over the place. Air, if it was me and I made you crash into the pit entrance, I'm sorry. Other than that, car was damn good, even with a little damage. Given how much time I was shaving off Graes lead each lap, I'd have caught up to him in another 10 laps or so.

Saloon: God, why is this game so evil. First lap, I was being distracted by my mother trying to talk to me and took myself and Nick out. Then spent the next few laps wondering why I was crashing so damn much, till Celica pointed out that three of us were on sports hards. Ran a few more on sports softs, couldn't get my rythm back, got pissed and parked it. Two of my friends joined and promptly left. I missed most of the race because I was eating, came back just in time for the finish.

I wouldn't mind if the DB9 acted like it did next week, but I really hope the Commie shapes up.

I parked for a few laps in GT, then tried to limp around some more, then just did donuts past the finish line.

I was on the receiving end of the mishap between Grizz and Spyhunter when i nailed Spyhunter blind at well over 100mph on the second lap. I have no idea why the game didn't ghost him for me, i've seen ghosting for far less of a speed difference.

I ran 30 laps at Madrid last night. Not ONE of them was clean. I can't do it.
