Air and Celica, thank you. I can't believe it never occured to me that the controller had a USB plug and the second jack was the long seached for mysterious port. So after reading the above I calmly reached over on my end table, picked up a thumb drive, walked into the office and plugged the sucker in. Yea, I'm on my way.. It may be a few days before I post my first pic. because I've got so much to do right now, but I'll have that to look forward to and I'm sure I'll enjoy it. If you frequent the 'Please don't hotlink pictures" thread, like I do, you may have noticed that I managed to post some pics from subjects that interest me recently. I love to learn something new, it doesen't matter what it is.

That new update sounds major. Heading to minnesota in the morning. Hopefully will have the ps3 up and running in a week or so.

I had to see if I could actually do it, and there it is. The reason I took this one is that when the car came up like that it just hung there and It occured to me that I ought to see how long I could drive it like that. Another thought was to go ahead and see if I could roll it over, but it was for a seasonal I think so I just set it back on it's wheels and continued on down the road.
Happy Birthday Celica
I saw the post from John Brown and decided to post mine over here.

Was there anywhere that stated exactly when the DLC was coming?

Also, if we do a shuffle series, please ABS. Turning it off when you can't change to brakes to keep them from locking up means it's a friggen pain in the ass everytime you have to corner.

Good candidates for a Rivals Series:
79 Civic and 78 Mirage. Ran a race with a freind of mine on Mt Ashole, finished .066 seconds apart and were right on each other the entire time.
Throw in some other late 70s early 80s fwds that are about the same power wise and you've got a good race.

Sounds good to me.
About the time I got to my mom's home lightning took out the internet. It was repaired today. Maybe I'll have time to try the PS online tomorrow.
I woke up this morning at 4:00 right after having a t.i.a. Some numbness on my left side and a slow burning in my head. They don't freak me out as bad as they used to. It's said that each one takes a toll though and I'm afraid the evidence is building up. I just sat down after one of the most difficult days of my life. Taking care of a loved one with dementia is very very hard.
If I start driving the wrong way during a race some day you'll know it's time to suggest I park it.
Who plans to race on Wed. night? I still haven't had time to hook up my PS and see if the internet speed is adequate. If there's definitely going to be a race held tomorrow night I'll do my best to see about getting that done. TM Reverse with no recent practice should add an interesting level of extra difficulty to it.
Strange how circumstances have been getting in the way of so many of us being able to race lately. I hope the trend will reverse soon.

I guess they bumped the DLC back to the 25th. Damn them.
I am planning on being there. Also... ROC?...
Polyphony Digital and SCEA have now made the Nissan GT-R GT500 Stealth Model available as a free download in North America.
To download the car, head to the PlayStation Store and select “Redeem Codes” in the top right corner. Next, enter the following code…
RD69-FJN9-5N6Q
…and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation. That’s it! The code will be valid through January 30, 2012.
I will be there tonight.
Got to lap/race Spa last night. Started in a room full of Scotts. That was hilarious, when I could understand them. Got to run with them a bit, and was invited to check out their leagues.
Then I jumped in with some Germans. I started doing laps, and they just started dropping out, which left me in charge of the room. With Spa. To myself. Eventually the room filled up with Americans/Canadians. Did a couple of races, then bowed out, as it was very late.
Great fun, that track. Is right up there with the 'Ring, for me. Can't wait for the DLC to become available.
Oh, and as a side note. Not only do we get the Stealth GTR GT500, as a "special bonus" for them being a week late getting us the DLC, we will be getting the Stealth NSX GT500 as well, with purchase of said DLC.

How'd you race Spa if the dlc isn't available?
Just like if I hadn't unlocked a track yet. If someone is racing there online, I can still join in. Great thing is, if they don't have the host status set to Fixed, when the host leaves, it switches to the next person on the list.
Just go to the online section, change region from US to All, find Spa, join and hope to not get booted.

Oh, so the dlc came out other places first.
Hokay, I will have to try it.

Well, that was a mistake. Not only do I like Spa, but I saw some of the DLC cars there as well.
Ran a race in a room full of spainairds with some other folks thrown in. I was the only Murican. I found out that an SRT10 tuned to 600PP will not keep up with race cars at 612PP, but will utterly destroy the other street cars in a race. I was 38 seconds off the pace in a 4 lap race, but the next car behind me was a good 20 seconds off me.
I did see one thing that warmed the cockles of my heart, people moving over to let faster cars by. Astonishing! I do it normally, but the rooms I join filled with Americans you have to sit there and find a spot to jump around the slow moving car because "berkeley YOU, if he wants to get around he can try!"
Saw another thing that bothered me, I was thinking that the DLC cars were just RMs for more of the cars in game, but since the R33 I saw said touring car and not RM after it, I do believe I was mistaken.
Well, since all this update and DLC nonsense has screwed with our series, I forget where we're even racing tonight lol I will try though to race.
Yeah, kinda bummed about the delay but glad they decided to give us some free cars for their screw up, i'll have to enter that code in and yeah, everyone has Spa and all the good cars because it was available everywhere else, North America got delayed. I saw a few rooms but of course I couldn't even join.
about racing with Scotts? haha to the rest of you, whenever you get a chance, race with scottish guys online, it is the most fun you'll have and it is hilarious to hear them say random E36M3 during the race, damn good racers too!
Agreed, Nick. They were awesome. Great guys.
Got my PS hooked up and ran 1 seasonal to try it out. Joined a random room and had to attend to something in the house and was of course booted when I finally got back to the PS. Gotta look for my head phones so I don't bug the other two in the house who HATE racing. Anyway, looks like I'll be ready to give it a try. I may have to bail at any time during the events but I'm going to try to, shall we say, manipulate the circumstances to not be disturbed for a couple of hrs.
I bought an Emerson HD TV and WOW at the clarity of the screen. I can actually read all the words on the screen with ease. Everything is so crystal clear that it will take a bit of getting used to. So many new details to grab your attention.
Hope to "see" you guys tonight.

We are going to go with:
Special Stage Route 7 - 6 Laps - NASCAR Cars - No tire restrictions
If you can update the first page, that would be great.
We has so much fun there the first time and did a test with the NASCAR cars and it seemed to work out. I lengthened the race to make it bit more in line with the standard race. Not as challenging to drive as some of the stuff we have done but gearing and downforce will be important variables.
I was considering NASCAR at Daytona, but I tried one online (30 laps) and I didn't find it that interesting.
The current plan for next season is some sort of shuffle race (no need to pic cars) using the variable PP settings and including as many custom tracks as possible (hopefully all of them do not have huge hills in the middle of them). For the second series I believe Grea has an idea, maybe he can expand on it.
I may be a bit late tonight (hopefully not) so if someone can setup the room if I am not there, that would be great. I know Grea usually does this anyway, but his new situation may make it a bit more difficult. If I am not there by 5 or 10 after, go ahead with the first race, I will jump in for the second.
I am still very low on practice and game time, so I might not be up to hunting the "hunter", but I will try.
Are we racing? It shows me as the only 1 in ac's lounge

Le Sigh.
After some, uh, difficulties getting things going, the room got up for some practice. Had a lot of issues with understeer one the DB9, and they got a hell of a lot worse once the race started. Started in 2nd, held it for maybe a half a lap before everything went to hell yet again and I started crashing constantly. Made it to lap 7 or so before I got fed up and went to go screw around on Spa. Didn't even bother with the Saloon, because the commie acts a lot like the DB9, just harder to control.
