Got around to opening and taking pictures of the box I received yesterday! Here we go!
One box from the PNW, slightly opened! (by me)
First look inside... and... does that really say, "ROCKET FUEL?"
Yes... yes it does... of interesting note is that the German Aluminum Powder does NOT say 'Non-Flammable' like the oxidizer. So far I've not found exactly how to use these- I've not found any formulas for how exactly to use these to do anything, though both seem to have applications in making fireworks. Undoubtedly one of the most unusual things I've ever received in a GRM exchange...
'Racer' magazine, book on handling (will keep this around on the shelf for when the DMC gets to the point of worrying about that...), what looks to be a plaster casting of the inside of a cylinder head, and a metal case that once held hack saw blades (made in Sweden!).
A box of self-tapping threaded inserts?
Which contains 3 inserts, the drill bits for the inserts, and the disposable leaders- everything it seems but the drive bolt. I've not actually seen threaded inserts in person before despite the fact they show up moderately often on drawings that come across my desk so while I'm not sure I'd have much occasion to use these they're certainly interesting.
Set of unknown spark plug wires apparently for a 6-cylinder engine.
The ever-present GRM bumper sticker, a promo card for a Miata-based car called the Catfish, stickers, and other swag.
This sticker is probably one of my favorite things from this box, and one I'll actually find a place to put (unless I don't... :P). Likely on my toolbox, which would be most appropriate.
Three screwdrivers- one ratcheting one with a removable flat drive bit and two VERY solid (and heavy) ones, one philips and one flat. I've yet to figure out exactly what the thumbwheel in the middle of them is for- the best I can figure is that it changes the balance of the screwdriver in your hand? Regardless, these look like very nice and solid screwdrivers and will likely get some good use.
Finally- a few more stickers, a license plate from the state of the box's origin, a small piston (motorcycle?), and a cute foam traffic cone.
Definitely an interesting and unique box- though I worry that the sender (Mezzanine, I believe) may have slightly violated postage rules regarding the rocket fuel. Thanks!
