I'm glad you like the beer and coozies, I made those coozies last year to send Spotted Cow to the PNW. Since you have the luxury of being able to purchase Spotted Cow anywhere I sent a couple microbrews from southern Wisconsin I had in the fridge.  The Milwaukee Tools are a bunch of stuff I scavenged from my desk.  The clamp level is the Milwaukee Pipe-Lock, that was my most recent project launch. It's a little electrician's level for conduit bending but it has machined plumb and level working surfaces.  The throttle body is off of a Chevy Trailblazer, the letters are off of my old Dodge Magnum, the oil filter is a leftover from my Fiesta ST that I recently sold, worn out exhaust hanger from my 91 Ram50 and I think the bushings were from a SN95 mustang steering rack.  Mrs. Racetruck picked out the hot wheels and the broken pliers are a raw casting for either a Leatherman or a Gerber from when I worked at a foundry.   I think that's about it.

I need to add much more to what I send out next year. My box should have reached it's recipient last week!

I'll be coming home this weekend and excited to (hopefully) find a box on the porch when I get there..

I got it, posted at the bottom of the previous page. Took me a few extra days because my mail carrier doesn't deliver anything too large to fit in my mail box and I wasn't able to make it to the post office until today. And quality of junk>quantity of junk, plenty of cool stuff in there!

And I am so stealing that "Berk it, Send it" sticker idea!  laugh

But more importantly, what the heck is up with the postal carriers this year?  Some of these boxes have taken a BEATING!  I hope Mezzanine's theory skips my box, because there is a LOT of duct tape on that badboy...

Edge sealer is used to seal the edges around stickers and decals so they don't peel up. I've used it a lot (though that isn't my box!) And it makes decals last a lot longer, esp in wet environs.

Clear nail polish can also be used, and works suspiciously about as well...

Lol!  You are welcome!

My goal was to regift a few things from each of the three years I've participated.

****Edit for clarity on some items:

Little screwdriver, chain, jar of LEDs, Microsoft patch are all regifted.  There were more (I think) but I can't remember what else I put in there.

The wheel center clock was my doing.  I hope it works...  Signs are from a bathing suit dryer and a sauna respectively.  The two biggest headaches of mine at work.

The book "Worst Cars of All Time" was given to me by my ass hat neighbor.  His words were "I was cleaning my basement and found this book.  It applies more to you than it does me."

Half of a motorcycle brake caliper, a tow loop or matbe a seatbelt bracket, a pair of safety glasses.

Vacuum or pressure stuff. Hoses, fittings, p-clamps, couple of analog gauges, a digital gauge and a couple pressure regulators(?).

Electrical stuff. Note in the bag says "Anaheim Automation stepper drivers, use with Anaheim transformers". Transformers are included, along with a Eurotherm controller of some kind, a 120v fan, and a voltage gauge.

Matt, if you want to clue me in to how I ought to be using the items in the last couple pictures, I'd be happy to hear it.

Thanks!

Okay, so some of this I pulled from shelves in my workshop and some came out of my "I should have eBayed this E36 M3 years ago," box.

Motorcycle clutch slave, I don't remember off what bike, but I put it on an SV650 to convert to hydraulic clutch.  I think the tow loop was under a hitch ball to attach a safety brake pull cable to. The safety glasses have +1.00 readers in the bottom, which can be useful for reading socket sizes when under a car.

Vacuum/Pressure stuff.  I didn't check to see if I sent a pressure or vacuum/pressure digital gage, but it should be programmable to change colors when the value is outside of its range (oil pressure too low, boost, whatever).  Basically it is a gage and idiot light combined. You have a "big" regulator that really isn't big, just precision, and a little baby one that I have no clue what to really do with. Regulate off an airbrush pump, make a wastegate barely open, Christmas ornament? If you figure something out, please post pictures.

The Eurotherms are industial machine thermostats, though they need some for of temperature measuring device connected. They are programmable for displaying temp and turning heaters/chillers on and off.

Stepper motor controllers?  Who knows, you have two; maybe a homemade CNC router designed around obsolete parts?  That could waste all kinds of time. The smart move is to use eBay to pay for next years postage, but I haven't been that smart, yet.

I hope you have fun with it all,

Matthew

Oh yeah, the white ceramic square is an electro-themo cooling/heating device. Think thermocouple but in reverse. The silver doodad is a 95°F cutoff switch. It opens the circuit at that temp to protect whatever is inline with it. The hot side of the ET device doesnt like to exceed roughly that temp. Run the device from 0-12 VDC, IIRC. might have to google the number for databsheets.

My box made it all the way from AL looking very good.

I feel like mine is a bit lacking now, great stuff in this one!

Unpacking!

Little box had a package of resistors

A mostly complete pair of Itailian made Trubo mirrors

Awesome E36 M3 from the Pedal Pushers Klunker Class. My bikes definitely fit the Klunker definition.

An official Team GB shirt

Ford stereo Harness

Package of Orings (laughing at my oil leak oring misadventures?!)

Bag of ~1/4" vacuum plugs (Always needed!)

One very cool Tardis watch. Uhhh yeah I tried top explain a Tardis to my daughter. She thinks I am crazy

Three Knives! Two Opinel (always wanted one of those actually) and a Kudu?

Yes they are sharp....

Two Koozies, what on earth is Cleopatra's Animated Adventures? Will have too google....

One large box of assorted "Wave Springs". What are they for??

A little walnut box.

Ballast and a screwdriver

Nifty little terminal blocks. They stack so you can make whatever size is needed.

Awesome stickers. Debating if I should piss a lot of people off and put the prius killer on my big diesel....

Clymer for  a Yami 2stroke.... Maybe I need to buy one to flat track?

This one I will have to study. Perhaps the IH needs some! Gave it a quick read through, and it seems VERY through and hard to do :D

And last but not least, one zip tie and two #8 ish screws.

Mine went out today. I'm fairly sure that my recipient was the person who sent my box last year.

I completely forgot to enclose the note I'd written. I found it on my desk when I got back from the post office.

The note should say: Happy GRM Gift Exchange.  In the spirit of the law that bears my name, I've sent an oil pressure gauge for one of your Mazdas.  - Brett Murphy

Thank you Robert!!!

If that pinstripe book needs to find a home, I would care for it.

Also, my box is packed and addressed. I'm hoping to find an apc tomorrow so I don't have to explain to a postal worker what the hell I've done.
