In reply to EastCoastMojo:
I'm so glad everything survived the trip and made it to you before Christmas.
I tried to throw in as much Australian specific stuff as I could. I really glad you like it.
Now, regarding Vegemite, less is more, and plenty of butter is essential.
Also, if just Vegemite and butter is a bit hard to handle, adding some cheese and melting it always goes well.
I actually have no idea as to the origins of the strange socket wrench, it was in a box of assorted tools I found when I was looking for other things and just thought it was unique enough to be worth throwing in.
Considering the international aspect I think we both did a pretty good job. This has been so much fun :) Thanks Ashleigh
P.s. I was going to include some Aussie beer for you but found out sending it was a no no. So if your ever in Australia, I owe you a beer or several.
In reply to Hungary Bill:
They might well be... Depends on what mz mojo thinks of the stuff .
Also, thanks so much for letting me play and finding me a willing partner. Much appreciated bill.
I like the vegemite a lot! Had some with buttery wheat toast this morning, it's like spreadable beef jerky. The Violet Crumble was good too.
I find it interesting that calories are not mentioned on any of the food labels, but rather the energy value is listed in kj. I had to google the conversion, 10 calories is equal to 40kj. Neat!
Thanks again for all the cool stuff!
Holy Swag!
WOW. Thanks!
My box is going out soon. I just got back from NYC so it should be headed out sooooooon.
Berk, I got my box in yesterday, haven't had a chance to open and photograph the evidence. Also have yet to send mine out, I'm a huge slacker and getting this house ready for market has taken up evenings. I'll get mine boxed and ready to go for Monday!
In reply to EastCoastMojo:
Glad you liked the Vegemite and the violet crumble.
Let me know how the caramello koalas go.
Yeah, the kilojoules thing really messes with calorie counters.
Your very welcome, and again, thanks for being my secret Santa. I can't wait to get back home and go back through my stuff again.
I'm actually a bit of a bike fan so the stickers and bike stuff are much awesomeness
In reply to daeman:
The Koalas are quite good, I had several for lunch along with another slice of buttery vegemite toast. .
I picked out some bike stuff based on a couple posts you had made about '80s BMX. Since I used to work in a bike shop, I had a handy supply of bike stuff to send. Hope you enjoy your stuff as much as I am enjoying mine! And thank you for being my Secret Santa down under!
In reply to curtis73:
Hm, you make the CB sound so fancy. I was just tired of storing it.
You're welcome, I ended up with so much random stuff too nice to junk but not worth trying to sell for a few bucks, so I'm glad someone else can use it.
I arrived home from Skiing in New Mexico last night to a box on my front porch. t was sent from Albany Ga. have to love the Amy sticker. cap and rotor for an 8v VW cool Lotus emblem random tail light can of refigerant (that will come in handy in the spring) fuzzy dice (they would be cool on my 47 CJ-2 but no mirror) a pair of nippers that i am not sure what the are for. some type of corner chisel punch jeager speedo what appears to be cam alignment tools for A2 vw.
Thanks, Santa Merry Christmas
In reply to EastCoastMojo:
Sounds like I should have given you a bigger jar of Vegemite mz mojo. I'm pretty stoked that you've taken such a liking to it.
Caramello koalas are the awesome , you can get giant caramellos that are about 3 times the size but they didnt have any when I was shopping.
I fly back home today so I'll get to check out everything you sent all over again. Thanks for being such an awesome secret Santa
I came home this evening to a strange envelope in the post box, I will have to take some pictures when I get a chance but have some new hose clamps and wire brushes for my air grinder waiting for my next project. Sweet, Thanks Santa.
Now I just hope the package I sent made it from the porch where USPS tracking said they left it into the hands of it's intended recipient.

HAHA okay well at least now I know what that barrel thing is. Like I said though I could use a drill bit box so it's not getting re-gifted next year.
Here is my haul from C. Dominguez, whoever that is on here! Ha ha. Terrific stuff, the Hickoids album is sweet. Now to find a 45 rpm record player

I thought re-gifting might make a nice tradition for the GRM secret Santa, and since I never got around to using it, I decided it was time to move on.
The magic black box and wires goes with the floppy disc - it is a fifth injector controller from the old days of trying to find ways of adding fuel to turbo cars with the boost turned up. You're correct the the Apex'i item is a BOV.
I loved the unboxing video! It made it look like better than a collection of random crap that was taking up space in my garage.
I hope you enjoy!
Came home on the 26th from spending Christmas day with my family and saw a rather suspicious package waiting for me
I went to the only semi-clean spot in our house (the kitchen floor) to inventory the awesomeness that was contained within
Saab electro-pneumatic solenoid of some sort (have not looked up the part number yet)
Relay connector with pigtail
enviro-pack connectors with pig tails
red toggle switch
(someone knows I like to play with electrons )
1" bearing rollers
light bulb socket with cord and plug (from ikea) I'm not sure if I want to make a drop light or an automotive themed lamp out of this...
stickers! Koni and blipshift
authentic challenge tire pressure monitoring system (aka pen gauge)
circuitry of somesort. I'm wondering if it goes with the weather monitoring pamphlet that was sent to me?
Bottle of mystery syrup. based on its east coast origins I was thinking it could be Maple syrup, but then I remembered the package came from DC so I thought I'd better wait to open it until I was sure of its contents...
2 bottles of beer, on is reportedly infused with habanero peppers. I'll drink that one first
vintage GRM with Audi Quattro and CRX content!!!!
Thanks Josh! Looks like tonight is free beer and vintage GRM night at the Hungary house
Cheers!
Oops. Sticky went missing, that's legit maple syrup. Good in cocktails, too. The mini board is a DC voltage regulator. Glad you like :)
ooooh. I got an idea for that DC regulator (insert evil laugh here).
Cocktails you say? got a favorite I should try?
Got mine today.
Some kind of LCD screen
2 casters
Irwin clamps
ARP assembly lube (hilarious due to some recent experience with it)
Automatic float charger which is perfect for my stored Miata right now
Gloves that once belonged to Cam
Heat shrink tubing, big domestic rad cap, flasher, battery shutoff switch, a rockauto magnet of course and a set of those finicky old school standard ratcheting wrenches.
Oh and a pretty nice-operating tape measure that was never supposed to be removed from home depot.
Cool stuff, thanks!
We got home yesterday to find our held mail from the last week while we were gone on vacation sitting on our front porch- and since it had rained hard since the mail was delivered earlier in the day the box from my GRM Santa was soaked and the addressees largely obliterated- though from the contents I think I can assume it came from New York...
Contents:
-Corvette Racing t-shirt (my FIL would definitely approve)
-NYC MTBA bus model
-New York state seal (I assume) patch
-holographic Merry Christmas button
-copy of Car Talk's Click & Clack's 'In Our Humble Opinion" book (this looks like it should be a fun read)
-Lime Rock Park sticker
-Battery Tender sticker
-Blipshift +5 hp sticker (should go on the El Camino)
-a bag of crushed Christmas cookies (I'm guessing they didn't start in that condition...)
This was definitely fun! I wish I'd done this before and look forward to seeing when the box I sent arrives!
Mine was delivered last night!
There was a hole in the box but I think the contents were not affected.
The haul:
THANKS SECRET SANTA!!
