Thanks!!!
I am absolutely dying here!!! Well played, sir!
(one day the office will get tired of staring at me while I absolutely lose my carp at my desk, but apparently it's not today )
Glad you got some amusement out of it!
The entire house has gotten a sinus bug, and the box is supposed to include some home made baked goods, so I'm waiting until we're healthy to prepare that part.
Sorry for the delay.
Went to post office. Parked next to kindred spirit
So that was pretty serendipitous. Anyway, eastbound and down.
Revieved a cleverly addressed package today so when I get home unboxing will commence.
Opened my box today. The box art really made us giggle.
Fun fact I have done work in land grant.
Let's open it up.
First thing wife saw was the tiny froglegs flash light and definitely called dibs.
Baggys of hardware really gets my blood pumping. That's a staple of my parts storage/house.
The tripod flash light is already in use inside the ranger. Also the "let's go" walkie talkies have been put in the house bucket. Plate is going on the wall. The Japanese? Dash cam USB power thingy took me forever to figure out what it was. The tiny inverter is super cute.
The phone mount reminds me of highschool, the CO2 cartridges are life on the bicycles and blown away they made it here. Coilover adjusters are super heavy duty, where are they from? Ford badge is definitely going on the ranger, someone really did there homework. The channel lock bottle opener is excellent. The .45acp shell will get reloaded.
I see you xj belt tensioner pulley. Hub centering rings that I need to measure. Water pump gasket I forgot to look up. Bolts, I love bolts. Not gonna lie, fuel filter is gonna do some work. There a story on the angle brackets?
10mm savior kit! Plus splined lig nuts!
Almost forgot the last item! It's almost a car build in a box. A headunit, the next step down of the one in the XJ, and one of my favorite eras/styles ever. Elvira said the box is hers.
Seeing stuff I sent out in previous years continuing to circulate is great fun!
My sender and my recipient both posted launched packages before I got my shipment out, but I did that today so now I can open the box that arrived here.
I got a DIY lamp building kit and a transaxle cluster to use as the body!
Other things in the box
- Finger LED
- 8-n-1 tool/flashlight
- RCA to speaker level converter
- Folding pocket tool
- Hagerty shades in a Kenwood removable faceplate case
- Carburetor of unknown origin
And, a couple bits of Bad Decision Triangle swag
Box en route to the east coast. Shipping cost more than the contents and I am absolutely giddy with anticipation to see the victim's response. I believe I figured out who it is but didn't affect contents much if at all. No time for artwork unfortunately.
Wife sends me a text, "you've got some explaining to do!"
Contents seem to verify sender identity:
Literature:
And a spare "tool":
also got a shirt, a center cap, fuses and a fuse holder, a trophy for participating, exam gloves, and some recycled funny pages.
Thanks Vermont!
Box is 90% ready to ship, just need a couple of finishing touches in it.
I hope my recipient is ready to be underwhelmed!
In reply to gumby :
The carb is from a 150cc Chinese scooter. It probably supports about 3 hp. And it was harder for me than it probably should have been to weld on old spark plugs. They're tricky bastards!
The 8 in one flashlight is another story:
Sometimes over the summer I returned home from a trip and found that someone had been into my garage. I think it was neighborhood kids, but still somebody searched through our garage. I don't think anything of substance was taken.
They definitely left that flashlight by accident though! I found it to be an absolutely worthless tool in just about every way. Congrats on your new creeper flashlight.
Just dropped mine off at the post office!
Box is finally packed, label printed and ready to go. I'll drop it off in the morning. Sorry I'm running behind schedule.
Mandatory puppy inspection:
Excellent graphics:
Syrup numerals and a creature with an existential crisis:
Inside we have a smoke alarm and elephant spec q-tips:
Decals, pedals, zipties, small bowls:
Two Subarus, Dajiban, Ninja Turtles Pizza Wagon, a tube, wheel lights, oil filter, graphical representation of most project cars:
Important tags, custom decals including the unreadable metal GRM, honey, some wires, a sample of teflon tape (?), magnet, monster fish hook, gloves that are miraculously my size:
And this!
I don't know why I need the most Robocop looking radar gun ever made, and Mezi doesn't know either :
But I plugged it in and it did something:
Fantastic. Thanks MNDSM!

In reply to ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ :
Yvw. The radar gun was something I bought from another grmer whod somehow ended up with a batch of vintage ones from the Texas state patrol. So...you have a real live Texas state patrol radar gun. I'd had my fun with it, figured it was time to share. edited to add a closeup of the grm logo, if anyone is curious.

Glad to see my Q-tips are still being passed around. I forgot to put some in my box this year. They are actually useful for some things.
In reply to Mndsm :
It's definitely coming to the next rally I volunteer at! Super cool.
That GRM logo vinyl has to be a nightmare to pick the unused bits out of.

I said the same thing- it's not bad at all. I try to use good vinyl (I believe that one is oracal 651, and the white one is 851) weeds really easily. Helped I had a really fresh blade in my cutter. I made a bunch more for lulz including -
glow in the dark.

As promised, an opened box. Thank you kindly lopracer, for the bounty that I have received.
carefully wrapped with some crinkly paper and a ribbon my cats were very amused by.
many things including a tire patch kit, a vintage compass (think drafting, not geocaching) a hat, an scca magnetc, hot wheels led bulb covers, candy l, a 30amp trailer plug (that I'm shockingly familiar with. I never knew how good I needed to be at working on RVs in Florida. ) Candy, some sick nopi era goods I threatened swmbos car with...and a mystery mini sundry box that held the weirdest hot wheels I've ever seen, a lovingly decorated very serious 10mm socket- a patch and sticker kit from a Florida state park I shamefully have not been to (but thank you for supporting them) a coloring book, a fuel system Hanes, a motorcycle periodical, and.....the legacy paper towel.
Confession time, I planned on this being my last year. I struggled really hard to get my box out and even in the realm of my own standards. I however cannot let the paper towel die with me, so I guess I gotta go one more round.
In reply to Mndsm :
I glad you enjoyed the box, yes a lot of the contents are legacy items like the box and crinkly paper and of course the paper towel. The weirdest hot wheels if a rare-ish Coupe Clip key chain actually. I found two and kept one for myself. The NOPI era seat belt pad, pedal covers and light covers are purchases bought by me during the height of and possibly at NOPI Nationals. I went a few times around the turn of the century (been waiting to get to say it that way). I found them in an old box at my mom's. The rest is odds and ends from past boxes and things I accululated over the last year. Happy New Year and kinda glad the legacy paper towel will keep you in the game.
As my victim's box has been dispatched, I can now tear into mine!

Yes do not eat the berkeleytopuses, platinum cure silicone doesn't taste very good and is extremely chewy. The Jimmy sticks, on the other hand, are my second favorite thing Boyer makes. They're chocolate covered, peanut butter covered pretzels. If you're not familiar with Boyer by name, they are known for Mallow Cups, the peanut butter cups with marshmallow instead of PB.
Industrial sperm art is a much cooler name for propane heater tube, I might keep that name in the future. The blob of aluminum I actually have an analysis sheet for, somewhere, that's what the dots on the flat side are from. It's mostly Jeep rim, with a bit of miata and a touch of Nissan piston.
Finally, I was reminded at Xmas that not everyone can eat my Xmas cookies, so I thought I should provide a warning just in case.
Glad you enjoyed it.
OOh yea the simple strap. I'm not sure what it is, but it looked useful. I bought myself one too but have managed to lose it already before testing its limits.

I believe I was the first recipient of the white pony game? It's one of those bounces around every year gifts
those are drone batteries, new that didn't fit my drone, looks like the recipient didn't need them either. Think the charger goes to them
In reply to Patrick :
Heh, I got both of those from Javelin last year.
My lazy behind got my package out this morning. My NYG is a little different and will be a while before I can unveil it.
