I used to hang glide and always wanted to try gliding. The hurdle is you have to be a licensed pilot first. So for $75 you get some ground school and a flight.
I think she's trying to get me out of the garage....

That would be cool. It's a heck of a lot cheaper than I thought it would be. Have fun.
Congrats, gliding is really cool. I've flown gliders a few times in the UK but didn't take it much further 'cos I didn't really need another expensive hobby

Check to see if your wife is investing in insurance policies; she may have seen this and had an idea:

BTW, this pilot survived with what were reported as minor injuries.

Yeah, out of the garage and under the ground. You must have really ticked her off!

My ex wife gave me something that required anti biotics.
Twenty some odd years ago I gave my dad a similar introduction to soaring lesson/joyride. He would up getting hooked, signed-up for lessons on the spot and went on to fly sailplanes for many years.
I've been up a couple of times - it is very cool! Have fun.
New information:
I went to the Club's website; it looks like you pay a one time fee of $500. and this includes all instruction to getting your license. You pay for each tow which ranges from $15 to $35 depending on the height.
