Made it through the day and the days following. Self medicating with junk food and naps helped.

2023 has been a rather crap year as well.  Working remotely at a construction site 4 states away from home. Home every 2-3 weeks for a weekend.  And the weather hasn't been cooperative for bike riding, which is my main stress relief.  And naturally, all of my car projects are on hold, which really sucks as I've had to bail on two events due to lack of time to get a car ready.  The main issue has been living out of hotel rooms for months on end (since Oct).

This current project is supposed to end in late July or early August.  While it's possible I'll be back up here, I've stated I won't do this again unless I get a firm enough commitment that I can get an apartment.

Hoping the second half of 2023 will be easier on my brain...

Living away from home for so long can take a toll, and being disconnected from your space and routines is not easy. I went through something similar when I had to relocate for work for six months. Hotel living felt soulless, and missing out on hobbies like my weekend hikes worsened things. What helped me a bit was keeping small routines like journaling or even picking up short-term interests like sketching, which I never knew I'd enjoy.

For me, creating some sense of "home-away-from-home" mattered. Consider exploring small comforts like portable vape devices like the NEXA N20000 to unwind after those long workdays.
