The feline type goofballs. Get your mind out of the gutter.

It was definitely a first. I was sitting at my desk working on a new brochure when I hear a meow behind me. I had the door propped open because it was a beautiful day. Standing in the floor behind me was a cat. Never seen him before, chunks missing from his ear and a little scrawny. Figuring it would run as soon as I moved I reached down to pet it. Boy was that a mistake.

I stopped petting him so I could get back to work. Needless to say, like all cats, he had other ideas and promptly curled up on top of my keyboard.

I didn't get much done after that. He has got to be the most friendly stray I have ever seen. I might have to haul some cat food to work tomorrow.

Yes I know the date on the calender is a year out. I don't change them until there isn't any place left to write.

You've been adopted, my friend. Hope you don't mind feeding that thing for the next decade or two.

Haha. You need to name him "Bob Costas"

I'm trying to talk the owner of our warehouse to adopt a cat to wander around here. Would be nice to have a cat to calm me from the stress

Probably a former house cat that got abandoned.

Aw, what a sweet looking boy! I like how he is curled up with the mouse.

The missing part of the ear looks like what they do when they spay/neuter a stray, so that from a distance you can tell if a ferrel cat has been fixed.

Well hang on a second... the chunk missing from his ear. Looks like it's just one ear, like the tip has been cut off?

If so, that's probably a shelter cat. Fairly common for shelters other than the Humane Society to clip the tip of one ear when they "fix" the incoming cats. I almost bet this thing was a stray, brought into the shelter, fixed, adopted, and then abandoned again.

Pretty E36 M3ty, if so.

Our office backs up to an apartment complex, the owners probably moved and couldn't find or couldn't be bothered to move him. He's definitely a people cat.

Just one ear, but he's without a doubt male and not fixed.

There's also no way that is or ever was a feral cat.

Congrats on your new permanent acquisition ;-)

Man, that MF'er looks TOUGH. I could use a no-nonsense garage kitteh like that! And hell yeah man. Bring him some food. He looks pretty scrawny. Captain Karma will reward you handsomely.

Cutie. I'm a cat guy. I like dogs just fine, but I really love cats. He looks like he'll be a good boy and great friend for you. You're stuck with him now. Name him something awesome.

I have a feral that lives in my backyard. for a handful of kibble a day I get a dead gofer and and least three rats a month left for my trouble. He kicks ass. Looks exactly the same

My indoor show cats would not know what to do with a live gofer if it smothered itself in gravy. They are so far removed for real cats that it is not funny.

The problem with the ferals is although they can have awesome personalities (and sometimes not so awesome personalities) when the get smashed in front of your house by a car...it sucks to pick them up.

I like my cats, personality or not, inside, not smashed.

My parents barn cat is going on 19 years old and isn't moving too fast anymore. She's been complaining about field mice in the shop. I'll have to check and see if they want an an apprentice mouser.

This, he looks like an ass-kicker. I hope you keep him. And also +1 to naming him Bob Costas.

Actually what they do now is bring them in, fix them, and release them back out into the area they were picked up from.

Keeps other wild cats from taking over the area and knocks the breeding down a lot. Makes more sense.

Yeah, I was thinking something along the lines of Cam, Holley, Shelby, Daytona, Meawstang, Turbo, Lag, etc...

I adopted my cat in much the same way. He was a stray in my apt. complex but obviously had been around people. All of 7lbs and one winter away from death, so I decided to start feeding him. 9 years later, I don't regret it for even a moment, and he's been the best cat a guy could want So congrats! This one is gonna appreciate you!
