A commenter on Jalopnik was linking to GRM's site for a reference. It was the article comparing a Jaguar XKE, Porsche 356, and a Honda Odyssey.
Apparently some of the other commenters didn't like the article. ![](/media/img/icons/smilies/laugh-18.png)
As of now it's the 4th or 5th comment down by anti.team.

Oh, my. The truth hurts; an Odyssey will outcorner an E type. I'd still get a boner over the E LONG before I'd get one over the Odyssey.
Of course, given the interior room, I'd be in a much better position to do something about said boner in the Odyssey... of course, I'd catch the crumpet with the E first, so there would be no point in the van's extra room... damn, this isn't working at all is it? ![](/media/img/icons/smilies/whatthe-18.png)

You do something about the aformentioned ahem...morning glory, and you may well need that minivan after all.
Mkolabin didn't do himself any favors by stopping at a sarcastic comment.

Do Odysseys really handle that well? I have perverted thoughts about building one for Street Prepared. ![](/media/img/icons/smilies/evil-18.png)
It's not that they handle well, it's that practically everything modern is better than the best stuff of the old days.
I wouldn't doubt it if a new Wrangler was better in every performance characteristic you could care to measure.
That's the truth.
My father was a little taken aback when my old slushbox 97 V6 Camry ran the same time in the quarter mile as his old 71 Mach 1 Mustang.
And now my folks own an 08 Ford Taurus, which is the fastest thing he's ever had. ![](/media/img/icons/smilies/laugh-18.png)

Mkobalin has never read the magazine nor visited the website.
Mkobalin is the poster child of Bob Costas.......

You've got to stop reading jalopnik. That stuff will rot your brain. (...and apparently starts with the regions that detect humor and sarcasm)

I actually don't go on there as much as I used to. I still check it once a day. They seem to get (most) automotive news faster than other blogs, so that's really the only reason I'm on there.
Other than that, it's been a joke for like 2 years now.

And that thing only has 250hp (about what a modern hot-hatch puts out) but it's still sexy!
(The car... although I suppose Tom Selleck has held up OK too)

That's good. Too much jalopnik is risky.....you might end up like the rest of their commentors[ * ]; i.e. making snarky comments about other people's builds without ever building any cars yourself. Remember what T.R. said,
"The man who really counts in the world is the doer, not the mere critic - the man who actually does the work, even if roughly and imperfectly, not the man who only talks or writes about how it ought to be done." - Theodore Roosevelt
--
[ * ] - Now that I think about it, their regular blogger/columnist types are just as likely to belittle the work of others without doing anything themselves.

Only niggle I have with that article, is that I'd really like to know how the classic sportscars would have done with a proper wheel and tire upgrade. Going from 165r15 to 225r16 or 17 would have probably made for some interesting handling changes, especially for the Jaaaag.

Isn't that why the hood is so long?
