$3 for the brush and I used an old bolt for the spindle. It absolutely lays waste to shower scum with just normal soft scrub cleaner.

Oops, zombie but useful this time. I've used Barkeeper's Friend as well but I'll try the Simple Orange the next time I do it. FWIW the Barkeeper's Friend hasn't affected the fiberglass shower enclosure that I can see and it works way better than the stinky soap scum stuff I had been using.
