I am in DC today. My grandfather's remains were interred with full honors at the Arlington Cemetery yesterday. The core of the family went back there today to pay our more quiet respects.
We skipped the big parade in the capitol, but I'm looking forward to the fireworks.
Happy 4th of July everyone. My wife put this video together. Photos and video were taken by my wife and I from my home town and surrounding towns here in MA and from our trip to Nevada. Say what you want about Whitney Houston but she sure nailed the National Anthem way back when.

4th of July fireworks in Washington are incredible. We were situated on a lawn ringed with marble buildings that reflected the sound back around us so you could feel every explosion as a thump in your chest. The grand finale was like a continues rumble shaking your ribcage as it lit the sky until the smoke became too thick to see the fireworks burst.
Dear Fellow Americans,
Just because it is July 4th and you're riding a Harley doesn't mean that you can practically run my girlfriend and I over on our bicycles, swerve to avoid children in strollers, and weave in and out of traffic. I was going slow because there were 20,000 people in less than a 1/4 mile.
As you probably found out, I can go fast if I want to, because I proved to you who the true lane splitter was.
Bicycles rule.
