Happy Thanksgiving to all my brothers and sisters of the GRM World.
Be Thankful.
Be safe.

Happy Thanksgiving! This our favorite holiday at the Suddard house--the combination of project time and lots of food makes it the best. What's everyone working on today, feast-wise and/or project-wise?
Happy Thanksgiving everyone!!!!
The bird is in the roaster and most of the other things were assembled earlier in the week so it is just a matter of heating things up so everything comes together at about 14:00 or so.
This is a great holiday. One of the favorites of the Smith house.
This is my favorite holiday too, and this the first time in the past seven years that I haven't been scheduled to work. So in addition to being thankful for my family, friends and this fantastic GRM community, I am thankful to have the day off, and I am very appreciative of those who are working so that the rest of us can enjoy the feast.
Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

Bah Humbug ! 32 people here for Thanksgiving. Up last night until 1:00am baking pies. Peeling 20 pounds of potato's, cooking, mashing etc.
3 Turkey's cooked total of 55 pounds of Turkey dressing, squash,
etc etc. etc
over $600 spent not on car parts but groceries, plus a couple hundred on wine beer and etc.
Decorations, ornaments, etc added another hundred. Not to mention. A hundred for fancy candy etc.
My wife has been working 40+ hours in her office and another 40 hours getting everything spotless, shined and seasonally decorated. ( I'm her Gopher )
by 6:00 the only thing left over will be dirty dishes and a mess to clean up.
Well the ham is in the smoker and everything was good and ready to go, but then my mom went and broke the deep fryer, so dessert is cancelled now.
Edit: deep fryer is fixed. Headache and dessert are both back on.
As we're going to Mt. Snow, VT and not cooking, Trish whipped out some nice pies and home made ice creams (coconut and ginger-two different ones)
One pie is Chocolate Chip Pecan Bourbon, the slippery low black one is Bailey's Irish Creme Chocolate covered with chocolate-whiped creme Gnosh.
As one of the attendees is glueten intolerant, neither pie has flour.
Got inlaws at 4, leg of lamb in the oven in a few hours. No real projects today, I smashed the berkeley out of my foot dropping a paint can on it yesterday and I'm on the hobble.
We don’t have anything happening today since family has decided to do thanksgiving tomorrow.
I think we’ll be hanging Christmas lights and watching movies. I’m looking forward to a quiet day.
Happy thanksgiving, I'm headed too my in-laws for lunch then my sisters for dinner. I'm happy the weather stayed dry! Kind of looking forward to coming home and watching the night football game on my couch
Happy Thanksgiving!
Today I'm working on eating equal parts Pumpkin Pie and Cool Whip! Massive quantities of each.
Four years ago we blew off the family and spent the week with my son in SoCal. Dinner on Wednesday and Thanksgiving day at Disneyland. Low stress and a ton of fun.
Back to a big dinner here with our family. All is good, praise the Lord! And pass the cornbread.
I normally just lounge around the house today because it's nice to just be off work.
But Mazdaface from here on the forum actually invited me to his family dinner since I'm not far from him. So that's awesome. And we're going to work on the cars as well this weekend. Should be fun!
Is it me or is there something comforting to have the thanksgiving day parade on the tv? I kind of watch it but also do other things. Some of my earliest memories of thanksgiving as a kid are the parade being on tv.
Happy Thanksgiving!
Heading to my parents' for a low key dinner later this afternoon, and the annual tradition of hating on the Cowboys with my dad. My family doesn't subscribe to the practice of eating early on this holiday, which is fine by me, as it leaves most of the daylight hours open for project time. On the agenda is continud prep of the truck's frame for a coat of POR 15, however it's looking like the weather isn't going to cooperate for the actual painting portion of the project anytime this weekend - currently dealing with wind gusts in the 40-50mph range and the rest of the long weekend looks to be cold and/or rainy.
Just baking the turkey for my MIL and bringing it over for dunner at their house. We have my wife's friend in from out-o-town and her foreign exchange student staying with us for the long weekend. Hoepfully I will be able to hang some xmas lights.

The waiting is the hardest part.

Happy Thanksgiving!!
I've said it before and I'll say it again, if I'm the voice of reason, we have a problem.

Oh it's not just you. I watch/listen every year. And although my dad has been gone nearly 15 years, I still honor his memory by occasionally yelling "where are the bands?!" and "play some Sousa!" at the TV.

Bird is dressed, oil is almost up to temp, small crowd, and rain is falling. Gonna be a good day.
Y'all have my consent to hang the lights now. Happy thanksgiving GRM.
