I don't think they are dangerous, they just aren't idiot proof.
Ya has to be smarter than the jackstand.....

Exactly, Everyone is just looking to blame someone else for their short commings
I have one of the recall units....the teeth are very shallow compared to normal. I'll try to snap a side by side pic. I'd call it potentially dangerous looking at them.
(But we used them with no issues, and I probably have 10 pairs for the shop ranging from 3-12 tons. I check for pawl engagement.)
My 3 ton isn't on it. Eh.
Even when using the stands, if a tire is off it goes under the car. If space permits it, jack stays under the car, too.

Care to elaborate on any of this? Its covered in this Thread Take a look at the first page. Specifically the pictures that show how shallow the teeth are and how rounded the pawl is, then come back and tell me how it's just that the users are stupid.

Sure, some people are. But it's also quite possible that a bottom dollar un-engineered product with no effective regulation or inspection was made poorly.

Yea , those are my pictures in the thread, and one popped aa tooth, broke a weld and dropped my truck. It's NOT operator error.
