Can someone confirm or deny this claim?
Dad came home from work and mentioned he heard a supplier say that HF will be closing its stores and only being an online company.
Im scared and sad.
Someone set this rumor straight
Help.

Oh noes! Where will I get all my hammers that look like other tools? I have hammers that look like chop saws, arbor presses, and even one that looks like an aluminum racing jack. Where else can you find such a diverse selection of hammers?
They just opened a few stores. Horrible rumour. They rely to much on 'on the spot' buys where a guy like me needs a tool and knows HF will have it so we go to the store because we need it now.

I LOL'ed, and then I LOL'ed some more.
I hope it's NOT true, but I have noticed that HF is doing A LOT more print advertising. And of course, the print advertising directs you to their website.
I never thought I'd say this, but I am starting to get worried about all these stores that feel they don't need "brick and mortar" structures in large or even medium sized cities.
I don't buy it for a minute. As mentioned, Harbor Freight is a place to go when I need something right now, not later.
Wow...HF just opened up a couple new locations here in the ATL. Sounds like a rumor started by the Tractor people
I heard that Flyin' Miata was going to stop selling turbo kits. So far, nobody at FM knows anything about it. But it was on the Internet, so it must be true...
I personally don't consider TSC and HF to be competitors. Mainly because I have done some agricultural work myself. I have gone to both stores for completely different reasons.
Be glad most of you guys don't have a Farm and Fleet or a Fleet Farm near buy.
In reply to Keith:
Those have to be some mighty economies of scale on V8 kits to let you drop the price low enough for it to be a replacement for turbocharging the engine that's already in the car!
Just signed up for the emails and gonna stop at the tarpon springs florida store 50ish south of me <<<< closest to me >>>>>>>>>
They've opened two in the local area in the past 6 months (previously there was only 1 in the entire state). Doesn't look like they're slowing up here in CT...

What about supercharger kits?
on a un-related note..... the local Lowe's is closing after being open only about 18 months. Everything is 30-35% off right now and I was told everything is going to drop to 50% off the week they close which is the second week of Nov.
