Looking for Headphones with microphone recommendations for work and play. I prefer wireless, has to be able to compatible with Windows,PS4 and xbox. Looking for something under $100, I do not need anything fancy.

I'll throw in the same question, with two modifications to the requirements:

  • Available on Amazon or Staples
  • Does not need to work with PS4 or Xbox

I just got this xiberia usb one from Amazon for about 20-30 bucks and it's pretty good.  I added a 20 foot USB extension cable so I can roam about the shop with it.  The sound quality is really good both in terms of being able to hear and being heard.  The only downside is that the hardware mute button is just a button and there's no way to tell if it is muted or not.  The older model which my daughter uses had a toggle switch so you could tell at a glance if the mute was active.

I was also using a wireless set from Logitech that was a couple years old.  Loved it - great range and if you cycled the mic boom up it would mute.  But there is something in my basement which interferes heavily with bluetooth and other things in that range so I had to give it up.

I use a HyperX wired headset on my work/home computer.  It's nice and clear, no noise canceling though. It has a detachable mic, so when I just want the headphone piece I can remove the mic and it's not in the way.  It has a control box halfway down the cord that has it's own volume controls and mute button, comes in super handy on video calls.  The fit nicely, and I wanted something that wasn't all plastic. I think I paid around $80 during a prime sale.

Have the silver version of these- https://www.amazon.com/HyperX-Cloud-Gaming-Headset-KHX-HSCP-RD/dp/B00SAYCXWG/ref=sr_1_3?crid=3B8RRN9Z37O57&dchild=1&keywords=hyperx+headset&qid=1605034313&refinements=p_89%3AHyperX&rnid=2528832011&s=videogames&sprefix=hyperx%2Caps%2C223&sr=1-3

I can't speak for the wireless version though, and I think those end up over $100.

One of my boys swears by his Steel Series ones.  He also swears with them one while gaming so who knows

I've read good things about the HyperX. No direct experience. I have used wireless turtle beach headsets for my xbox needs. My latest set has had issues a few times, but nothing I couldn't resolve in a matter of minutes with some trial and error. I've been tempted to mod my Sennheiser headphones and add a mic to them.

I ended up getting a XIBERIA V20 Gaming Headset on ebay really cheap. I will let everybody know how it works.

I ended up canceling my order for the Xiberia as my employer paid for my headset. I ended up going with the MPOW air Wireless gaming set For the cost I think the sound is good, it's fairly comfortable, and I can go on any level of my house and it doesn't skip a beat. This is not $100 plus model headset so the mic quality is okay there is no breathablility in the headset so it can get hot in your ears if you wear it for long time periods, but I like that it suctions to your ears to block out some of the noise. Prior to this I had ordered and returned the Logitech H600, it was cheaper but I think the MPOW looks to be more durable construction.

Out of budget, but I love my Plantronics Voyager with noise canceling.
