Help me find a locking ball joint! (non-automotive)

So I'm building a posable robot sculpture for a local craft brewery that's opening up soon, and I need a ball and socket joint that's movable, and either locks into place or has enough resistance to hold a robot arm stationary. If anyone remembers me looking for old style car phone mounts, that's what I want them for. I'm open to all ideas, but this is kind of what I had in mind.

The two joints on the main rod would be perfect. Put the arm where you want it and turn the wing nut to set it in place. They pretty much look exactly like the joints on the old car phone mounts that I've had no luck finding. I guess I could just buy one of those and cut it up, but that seems like such a waste. Any ideas?

They have some on those alligator clips and magnifying glass thingers at Radio Shack.

I think those might be a little small. This is going to be about 6' 6" tall, so think large human size.

And there a many choices between the $12 one that I posted and the $400 one that you posted. Search for "monopod ballhead" for a larger selection.

I think a name brand is RAM mount.

Corey, I searched my car audio stuff when you first mentioned this need but didn't find anything. Well as per usual, tonight I was looking for something else and came across these. Do you still need some or have you found something else to fill your need?
