So my Rug Doctor Wide Track stopped spraying cleaning solution. I figured, "OK, its 15 years old, I'll just buy a new pump."
Go online to order and the pumps are out of stock... and they are $90... and it takes two of them...
Fine. Let's pull one out and see what's wrong. Pull the end cap with the outlet nozzle and tip it up and a spring falls into my hand, in two pieces, because it's fractured. Cool. All I have to do is buy a couple of springs. I hit McMaster-Carr and can't find anything the right size / material.
I am assuming from the look of the broken spring, it is some flavor of stainless steel. Closed and ground flat ends. 20.5mm long, ID 10.6mm, OD 12.5mm, wire size looks like 1.8mm.
This can't be that hard. Is there a Magic Spring Store I haven't found?

Closest I have is 26.5mm closed, but not ground. 12.5mm OD, 1.1mm wire. About 5 3/4 coils.
If you happen to be near lax anytime soon, you can come sort through my spring drawer which is packed with springs
I started looking at my measurements and I think that the closing / grinding process changes the ID and OD, since I couldn't make the math work with the numbers I posted. Likely a function of that, a cheap-a** digital caliper, and lack of measurement skills on my part. Just bought a new, less cheap-a** digital caliper and will see if I can get better measurements. Guess I'll hit Lee Spring and see what I find.
