Looks like a tick, a bumble bee, and a horsefly had a baby.

Just to be safe pull the covers off your bed and look around the edges to see if you see more of them.

Shows you how much looks matter. Adult ladybug and we are all like "Awwww isn't that pretty" and "If you find one it brings you good luck", baby ladybug and all the sudden " Ahhhhhhh, It's laying eggs in my brain!". 
Amgry, look around your house for something that looks like a dish or plate that you don't recognize.
That's how it got here.

At least it is, or will be, good fortune. Interesting that the larval from of something so benign is so nasty looking. Maybe it helps survival rates.

Benign if it really is a lady bug and not the Japanese lady bug. Those things bite. They're annoying.
That is an ugly little beasty there.
Don't feel bad. I was getting ready for an autocross Thursday and killed 4 black-widow spiders around the latches for the back door on my trailer. I've been paranoid about opening it up ever since.

Place I used to work for would get inundated with Japanese Lady bugs every fall. I do not know how they got into the building, but my office was especially attractive to them. I would have to start my day with a shopvac to get them up and keep them out of the computers.
Might I add that Japanese Lady Bugs also smell horrible when in mass mating quantities?

I have useed them for bait. Where do you find the huge ones?. The biggest that I have seen are 1.5-2 inches long
