iPhone 5

Win8

I want to move my photos from the phone to the computer.

That's it.

It's been an hour so far, and I've got nothing. I've downloaded iTunes and clicked E36 M3 but I am stuck.

I'm not familiar with the Iphone, but with the android, you just plug the phone into the computer and treat it like a camera. I would think Apple would do something similar.

Have you read the instructions? There are several ways to do it using iTunes, iCloud, iPhoto, manually managing photos and more. Google should give you a plethora of options.

Is the computer a mac or a lesser machine?

Step 1- hit iPhone with hammer.
Step 2- buy android.
Step 3- ????
Step 4- profit!

In reply to mndsm:

I'm actually mad at Android right now. Crystal's G2 just had a system update last night and now her microphone doesnt work unless it's on speakerphone. Known issue where the noise cancelling function with the second mic kills the pickup.

No big deal, i'll turn that off. WRONG. NEED TO ROOT THE DAMN PHONE TO CHANGE THAT.

Good thing we just paid full price for this berkeleying thing a couple months ago, right?

I just plug it into my Mac, and iPhoto pops up. Voila, there they are.

I Googled the crap out of it.

I already said it was WIndows 8. I guess a PC was implied.

No, plugging it in just makes it mad.

I used iTunes, and it has ways to bring things onto the phone, things to back it up, things to save my apps to the computer. Nothing else.

Employer bought the phone. I can't afford this crap. If they stop paying, I'm going back to my flip phone. Ole Flippy is still in the bag I case.

Back before I switched to a galaxy s5, I remember being able to plug my iPhone into my USB port and access it just like another drive. however, I think I had to change some setting on the phone, through iTunes first...something about allowing you to manually manage files. Sorry I don't remember the details.

Edit: I was mixed up. FBC below has it right.

I just plug the phone in. Kill iTunes and then say trust computer on phone. Then you access it like any drive. The key is clicking trust computer on phone before surfing for pics on phone. Dun

Tried that first. There was nothing to see in the phone at all.

This time, the third plug in and trust, it actually worked.

Thanks

Yes it's tough you have to get the timing right. If you try to download pictures before you hit trust. You'll never see them.

I'm glad I could help.

I have an iPhone 5 and windows 8.1. The only way I can do it is download the photobucket app, then upload the photos to photobucket then download the photos from photobucket to my computer. I know there are probably better ways to do it, but this works for me.

Have not had much luck with my 4s transferring pics to Win 7. So I send myself an Email from the phone with the pic as an attachment. It's a PITA but it works. It's also yet another reason to go Android when update time rolls around.

You're going to tear your hair out. After I lost my photos on both my phone and laptop, I did the photobucket app and save them that way. You can go to the photobucket site and download them to your computer.

Install dropbox and it can be configured to upload your photos automatically.. over mobile network or just via wifi.

I have used android for several yrs, my employer got me an iphone. I hated it and swapped it for a Galaxy S5 After 2 weeks. I wanted to like it but didnt.

I absolutely abhor the stupid iPhone, despise it. I miss my windows phone so much. If I was paying for it there is no way in hell I would ever choose a stupid iPhone over a windows phone.

Haven't tried on my 5 yet but on the 4 I had to show hidden folders using windows explorer to see the pics. Folders and images are named with random letter combos.

Download the phone app "Transfer Pro". The best/easiest way I've found - and I'm even using a MacBook/iPhone/iPad. No connection, third part accounts, PC software necessary. Just open your favorite web browser and enter the http: address the app generates, then select and download photos/videos.

Seriously, if for some reason my windows phone decides not to work seamlessly with my PC getting the information off it will never be more difficult than shutting off the phone, taking the back cover and battery off, and removing the 32G microSD card.

The only downside is the lack of apps.
