Im selling my Ranger. Ive had it listed for a while, but no luck selling it. Its in great shape mechanically, with lots of new parts. its a 2.5 litre manual 2wd truck.
What do you guys think? 147,000 ish miles. Only real body damage is on the hood.
If this is to much like an ad, mods just let me know. Im not having any luck selling, and was wondering what the GRM braintrust thought was a good price. I think I may be asking to much...

I'll give you $500 for it on May 12th.
Looks like a $1000-$1500 truck to me.
Really, I could maybe see 2k at most. You are killed on price because it's 2wd, 150k, and not exactly pretty.

Right. It drives soooo well though. I had a couple of 2k offers.

That truck would be worth $500-1000 around here.

Maybe here as well... But non rusted trucks are kinda rare around here!
Who knows...

Michigan is not the same market as South Carolina. A nice rust free Ranger like that is worth more than $500! I think it's easily a $2000 truck. Maybe more. Did you turn down your $2000 offers?
From my local CL
"Selling my 1998 Ford Ranger it as the 4 cly with automatic transmission,,,cold ac am/fm/cd...No Mechanical issues..Runs an Drives excellent 129,000 org miles..New State inspection...I will be available around 430 to show...Clear title in hand...$1500 obo...cash only"

I did, but probably shouldn't have. I was hoping for 2500 but...

Here in Central Ohio, $2000-$2300. I called on a really nice 1996 with 114,000 miles, 4-cyl/5-spd. The guy got his asking price of $2,900. I just bought my sisters 96 4cyl/5-spd for $2500. That was the average Kbb but she had bought it off the original "old man" owner she went to church with. It's super nice with over $2000 of new parts, no rust. I would not have paid that much but most major parts were replaced, with receipts, so I thought it was worth it, plus it was my sister. If you have alot of new parts with receipts that to me would help get a higher price. $500-$1000 trucks around here are heaps and then you would have to put alot of money into them. My area is so overinflated it's not funny. That all said, I would be tempted to take the $2000 cash offer.
In reply to bludroptop:
That's actually a 2001 or newer. Unless someone did a front end conversion.

That's true. 1998 has a front end like mine.

Wanna trade for a 1994 Probe Gt?
I could use a shop truck.

I would, but the main reason i am selling is I need the room in the driveway!
Joey
Good luck. If I had a spare $2012 lying around I would jump on that.
Welp, sold my truck! I got 2k for it. People were ecstatic with how well it drove!
Thanks guys.
Joey
Nice!! Too bad it wasn't more, but glad it did sell.
Me to! The girl
Who bought it was really happy.

most people would have been scared away by the "custom" air dam and wonder what other "engineering" was done to it..
like when i sold my 97 Cavalier to my cousin a couple of years ago.. she didn't like my custom made air dam and took it off right away.. then she called a couple of days later asking why it over heated... i explained that i blocked off the grille and added the air dam searching for fuel economy..
a week later, she called asking why it only got a little over 30mpg when i said it almost got 40.. she had unblocked the grille and removed the ram air scoop i put in..
She didn't even notice, and when I showed her, both she and her boyfriend said it looked awesome. It was just some throw away garden edging from my buddies yard...;)
