http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/11778510/colebrook-roads-1st-ful-length-album

For those who don't know the Kickstarter premise, it's a micro-funding site. People donate money to help us pay to make our album, and get rewards for donating- bonus tracks, exclusive t-shirts, their name in the liner notes, lessons, and even a house concert if they're near central PA. The thing is, if we don't reach our goal (making an album is stupid expensive! $4,000 is like a really nice NA Miata) by March 22, they all get their money back, and we get nil, and that would be a bummer.

So watch the video, and if you like bluegrass (i.e. if you have a pulse, because everyone likes bluegrass deep inside), or good music at all, please consider sending us a few bucks. We sure would appreciate it.

And also the skinny dude playing bass is me. Thanks!

Awesome! My Eastern Kentucky coal mining roots were really into that. Great to see people are still playing instruments . I'll see what I can do for ya. Keep it up!

Hey man thats awesome. I'll do my best to skrimp and save and get some your way.

If you guy's go out on tour and venture a little farther south I would appreciate a heads up. I grew up at bluegrass festivals and there is just something about sitting out on a cool night listening to a live band.

I have been lucky enough to get to see all of the great pickers and singers. Some of my best memories are form those festivals. It's somehting I miss.

Funny...I used to live on Colebrook Road outside of Manheim.

We may see you at the Black Gryphon; that's literally just up the road from us. If you ever need a backup banjo player...don't call me. I suck.

Fletch- thanks, man! Every little bit helps. We do lots of coal mining songs, too haha. And ones about drinking whiskey...and working...and farming...and making shine, of course.

Nicksta- The closest we've played to your neck of the woods is Middle-of-Nowhereville, WV, but I'll be sure to let you know. I recently started in the band, but they've been playing for three years- opened for Tony Rice once. That was effing awesome.

David- Whoa, cool, no idea another GRMer was so close. The band is named after that road, or the one in Lebanon County, or the one in Dauphin County, take your pick. The Gryphon gig will be my first 3 set gig, so it may be a little shaky on my end. I'll give it a shot, though. Our banjo man (an Elizabethtown resident) just started playing about three years ago, it's crazy how good he's gotten since. Say hi if you make it out.

I'm in for $50. That was outstanding. I love me some Bluegrass.

I'll be in for $20 as soon as my new credit card gets here (the bank called yesterday asking if I was shopping in Portugal, as well as making several $2 purchases at internet sites).

Can you bump this thread in a week so I get a reminder?

Looks like we'll be there. I'll be the guy staring intently at the banjo player's neck hand trying to figure out how the F he is doing what he does. My teacher also lives in E-town, just moved here this past fall from Missouri. I told him about you guys, hopefully he will show also. Bluegrass fans are out here but you don't see us much because not too many play it locally. My sister-in-law is working on a music event for Wrightsville you guys may fit into, I'll send her your info.

You'll need to log in to post.
