I like the part about "borrowing" an elephant from the zoo for some construction work.

In reply to Per Schroeder:

Don't think so. I think that I've read that Melugeons are decendents of escaped slave, native Americans, & whoever else was back in the deep, deep woods in the 1800s. If I recall, they also share a common characteristic. Some of their teeth (maybe incisors) are called spade teeth because of their shape on the posterior side. Don't take this as gospel, just recalling what I've heard or read several years ago.

wikipedia said: The French term Montagnard, meaning "People from the mountain(s)" refers to an indigenous people group generally from the Central Highlands of Vietnam. It includes individuals from multiple tribal groups, including the Bahnar, Jarai, Koho, Manong, and Rhade tribes.[1] Many Montagnards came to North Carolina and South Carolina in the late 1970s after the Vietnam War. Before the Vietnam War, the population of the Central Highlands, estimated at between 3 and 3.5 million, was almost exclusively Degar. Today, the population is approximately 4 million, of whom about 1 million are Degars. The 30 or so Degar tribes in the Central Highlands comprise more than six different ethnic groups who speak languages drawn primarily from the Malayo-Polynesian, Tai, and Mon-Khmer language families. The main tribes, in order of population, are the Jarai, Rhade, Bahnar, Koho, Hmong, and Stieng.

Remember, the movie Grand Torino was about the Degars in the Hmong Tribe.

I am glad I clicked the link and learned something instead.

I dunno if I'd send them money, seeing as I really dont have any. Ofcourse if they called me on the phone and asked for money, I'd tell them the same thing I tell the police youth assoc., firemans assoc, and democratic national committee, that I'm sorry I gave all my money to the NRA this year, and that they should ask them for some of it... But I do think the government should help them.

"The Central Highlands of Vietnam is the ancestral homeland of the Montagnard tribes, a peace loving people with an ancient tradition of living in harmony with nature and the cosmic forces."

Peace loving people? The author of that page might want to do a little more research. Most of my older special op's friends had nothing but admiration for the Montagnard's amazing abilities as warriors.

I'd think one could be peace loving & still have amazing abilities as a warrior.
