Maytag gas dryer, basic mechanical unit, no computer stuff.  10 years old.   Actually took the back off it last year to vacuum out any accumulated lint inside. (was very little to speak of).

Suddenly it only gets warm, not hot. A load of clothes takes forever, used to be 20 minutes thing was a blast furnace. The trap and exhaust are clear, good air flow.

Research on an appliance blog suggests the solenoid coils on the gas valve.

Thoughts?

Heat coils.  That has been my experience with gas dryers.  Cheap and easy fix.

Typical video repair example

Just replacing these black/white round pieces.  Often less than $20 for the pair

The gas valve solenoids are a thing, I’ve had to do them on my Whirlpool.   They’re fairly inexpensive and an easy swap.
