The betting money at Intrade has Cain chances to get the nomination at 2.1%, down from 7.0% yesterday. He has dropped below Paul and Huntsman. Oh the humanity!

I agree with the guy who agrees with the other guy.
We already had a down to earth guy that resonated with the people, for 8 years. It didn't go so well.

I saw the interview. He sounded like he didn't know what he was talking about. Maybe he meant to say something else but it sounded to me like he said that China was still trying to develop its nuclear capability as in they didn't have it yet. Maybe he wasn't saying that China didn't have nukes but it sure sounded like that was what he was saying. He wasn't clear. As the article said, he hasn't tried to clarify or respond to this yet. Maybe the International Business Times jumped the gun on this and the probably screwed up, and maybe I did too, but his organization hasn't responded to them yet and they need to. Romneys guys would have been all over this by now.
The fact that he keeps changing his story on the harassment isn't looking good either. He needs to be clear on his response to this. Yes. the press is going after him, but the are digging things up as well. Maybe he needs to come clean and admit he made a few mistakes. Blowing up at the press like he did the other day made him sound unstable and out of control. Not something we want in a potential President. Maybe he is a smart guy who doesn't communicate very well and doesn't know how to play the political game. Maybe he is a little too cocky. What he needs to do now is shut his mouth for a few days, go into hiding and get some professional advice and try to build a better campaign organization. That's the only way he can save himself at this point.
Of course if more women start coming out of the woodwork, all bets are off.

It doesn't matter what I think. What matters is what the majority of the voters perceive. As Karl Rove once said, perception is reality. Yes. It is a game, and if Cain wants to win, he better figure out the rules. Romney and the other 'pansy ass politicians' know what the rules are. Cain needs a Karl Rove or an Ed Rollins to advise him because the smoking guy isn't doing the job.
I still haven't made up my mind on this guy yet. His background is impressive, but losing it in the heat of the battle is not a virtue, all macho ranting aside. If he doesn't learn to communicate what his virtues are, the press will fill the vacuum and define him.
I still don't know what to make of the harassment charges. I don't automatically assume that these women are lying. The jury is still out on that. But if more women start coming forward and a pattern is established, chances are he does this on a regular basis and he just lost the cultural conservative vote.
I guess we will all have to wait and see how this all shakes out.

Even though I'm a "Honky for Herman", I recognize his chances for nomination are small. The great thing is that his mere presence and popularity within the "racist" Republican party is driving a stake through the evil heart of traditional Democrat strategy. This says quite a lot for the man and the Americans who support him.
Now, he needs to show the same tolerance for the press as he did for the (often) moronic callers who tried to challenge him on his talk-radio program. Yeah, he's a little rough around the edges, but that's a Truman-esque quality that's appreciated in today's world of smooth talkers with little to say.

I'll wager that Cain turns into this season's Howard Dean. A bit cooky with the guts to say things appealing to the more frustrated among us, but not composed and strategic enough to actually get elected. Less extreme members of his party will see what he says that resonates with the people and pick a few key nuggets which they'll tone down, package better, and claim as their own.
