...and I mean that in the nicest way possible.

I just "inherited" (i.e.: "Take this or I'm throwing it away.") a Sansui 210 receiver/amp. SUPER low power - like 10-18wpc @ 8 ohms, best I can tell.

Is there a nice, efficient little bookshelf speaker in the bargain price range I should match to this little beast? I'd like to use it as a quirky little spare system. Kitchen? Shop? Guest room? Got a Garrard 40 B turntable to go with it, too...

I've got 4 of the satellite speakers shown here. I could let them go for $25 a pair, plus shipping if you are interested. No idea what they are like, never used them.

Lots of great cheap designs to be had if you're willing to DIY it.

Parts Express forums have tons of inexpensive, good quality builds.

^^ Enlighten me. I've been looking for a quick little electronics project, and I have a couple drivers and crossovers I dumpster-dived for, though they might be too much for this little guy.

If you don't want to DIY speakers, JBL Monitor Ones sound pretty decent and don't require a lot of power either.

I have all the parts for this build (X2) but haven't had the time to put it together yet. Modern drivers are so good, and so reasonably priced, even beginner projects can sound great.

PE has some of the best customer service that I've ever experienced, too. Whenever I need speaker supplies, I buy through them, even if I find what I want elsewhere for less money.

That Sansui will be pretty underrated. Should have no problems pushing a nice vintage set of Monitor 5s.

Vintage Polks won't have the re-foaming issues that others will have either... they're rubber surrounds.

It's a really fun hobby, especially now with so many high quality drivers available at reasonable prices. The only problem you might have, is storage space to keep all the projects that turned out so well you don't want to get rid of them

Yes, sorry - they are commonly referred to as Control 1 monitors because that's what they were designed for IIRC (small monitor speakers for your "home" studio) and I must've got confused.

This is a horrible, HORRIBLE place for me to be and I hate all of you for the things you show me.

Well, I'm gonna try to build some speakers now. Either that or redo some old ones in my basement with an incredibly solid cabinet, but only mediocre sound.
