As residents of the great state of Texas, what can you tell me about Eugene, Oregon?
Yes that is my town. As a resident of Eugene I am seeing an awful lot of Texas license plates. Like 15 a day. I only started to notice them because they don't look real. Black and white with no embossing makes them look like they were made on a photocopier so they piqued my interest. My wife has interviewed 10 recent transplants from Texas in the last month.
Anyhow. I know the basics and that Oregon has been in the top two states to relocate to for the last few years but my curiosity is based on the seemingly disproportionate amount of folks from Texas.
I will say right away that I am all for it. I am loving the radical change in diversity of late. I am most decidedly not in the "welcome to Oregon, now go home" camp that is so popular these days.
Anyhow, anyone know anything?
Texas has a lot of people. Cali is too close and NY is too far.
My guess is there isn't a disproportionate influx from Texas, just that there are more.
Also maybe they bring their cars? I'd sell the crap out of my rusty junk before moving to Oregon but that might not be necessary from Texas.
Funny thing about this post is I have seen a huge increase in cars coming from Ohio to Maryland. I inspect about three a week so I know they are moving yo MD from OH.
Any input on this? I know Ohio is closer to MD.
More tech companies opening in Eugene lately? I know the portland to austin and back pipeline has been hot for many years now. Austin is no longer cheap and is starting to lose it's cool factor so just my thoughs. I know I liked my couple visits to Eugene.
I believe what you meant to say was, “Howdy Texans!”

Howdy y'all, come on Woody.
At least you are getting Texans. In Texas they are getting Californians. How sucky would that be?
Maybe they are coming for the weed?
I currently live in Texas, but there's nothing here that compares to the weather or scenery of the West Coast.
