I'm not out of the woods, but things are looking to be going in the right direction. I'm confident that the post surgery treatment, that I'll know more about after the 25th, will be able to do the mop up work.
I'm confident enough to be looking for work and thinking about getting started working on the Mazda again once I'm working and have paid my outstanding medical bills. Thank god for insurance keeping them reasonable (though they'd be well worth it regardless)

Nope! But I'm lucky to manage to get the keys to it, SWMBOed now drives manual, because miata, and she's altered her commuting route because of it, almost no interstate now. I've warned her to be careful to mind wet leaves this time of year and that there can be wet leaves matted underneath dry leaves. I'm glad that she's getting to enjoy it as this has been as rough, if not rougher, on her than it has been on me.
