That may be the funniest recipe I've ever read!

Take a large bowl. Check the Cuervo to be sure It is of the highest quality. Pour another 4 ounces in a measuring cup and drink. Turn on the electric mixer. Beat one cup of the butter in a large fluffy bowl. Add one teaspoon sugar. Beat again. At this point, it is best to make sure the Cuervo is still OK. Try another 4 ounces, just in case. Turn off the mixerer thingy. Break two leggs and add to the bowl and chuck in the cup of dried fruit, picking the frigging fruit off the floor. Mix on the turner. If the fried druit gets stuck in the beaterers, just pry it loose with a screwdriver. Sample the Cuervo to check for tonsisticity. Next, sift 2 cups of salt or shomething. Check the Jose Cuervo. Now shift the lemon juice and strain your nuts. Add one table. Add a spoon of sugar, or somefink. Whatever you can find. Greash the oven. Turn the cake tin 360 degrees and try not to fall over. Don't forget to beat off the turner. Finally, throw the bowl through the window, finish the Cose Juervo and make sure to put the stove in the dishwasher. Cherry Mistmas
I was rolling on the floor and I haven't even started making this one yet!
Mulled cider: 1gallon apple cider, 4cinnamon sticks, a dash of clove, a dash of nutmeg, four slices of orange cut in half. Add ingredients to a crockpot on high, after a few hours pour a cup and add Captain Morgans to taste.
I know it's tough to get into the Christmas spirit in Florida, or at least it was for me. Having grown up in the Northwest, palm trees with christmas lights on them just didn't do it when I lived in Florida.
Jessica is a sucker for holiday drinks; her favorite is hot cocoa with bailey's. It goes down like Kool-Aid (or like cocoa?), it's nearly impossible to make it wrong, and you can easily mix your ratio of baileys and cocoa as your alcoholic desire requires. It's super easy with kids around too as you just omit the baileys in theirs and it looks as though you're all drinking the same thing, nobody feels left out and you don't have to make two batches. Another easy alternative (or additional mixer) is kahlua. Oh yeah, we almost always make our cocoa with milk, it's just not the same when you use the mix with water.

Don't do it, man. The rum burns! I screamed like a little girl being dragged into a Hong ice cream van....

You're supposed to drink, not apply like a lotion..........
I dunno why, but jokes about burning, rum-soaked balls put me into the Christmas spirit more than anything.
Which I need, because to update: Still no tree. No homey libations. Stack of crap in the garage, not adorning house. I am, however, pretty much done with my shopping. Cue the wrapping frenzy, which will actually start... Christmas eve. Closest I've come to actually doing anything holiday-ish was to go to Scott's pie party, where they did have the hot buttered rum, and I drank a lot of it. Does that count?

Oh see.... now i always thought that rum balls were a tasty treat to eat.
Wait. That's not gone well.
For Christmastime, for me, I like Kalhua. Straight, with milk, vodka, coffee, eggnogg, whatever tastes good to you.
southern comfort and lime juice in a tumbler on the rocks is good all year long
OK, I got yer rum balls right here- The flavor of these improves over time.
1 1/2 cups vanilla wafer cookies
1 cup pecans, toasted* and finely chopped
1 1/4 cups confectioners' sugar, divided
2 tablespoons cocoa powder
2 tablespoon honey
1/4 cup rum
Place vanilla wafers in a food processor fitted with the metal blade and grind into fine crumbs. Place in a bowl with the pecans, ¾ cup confectioners' sugar and cocoa powder in a large bowl. Add honey and rum; stir to combine.
Place 1/2 cup confectioners' sugar on a plate. Form the nut mixture into balls 1 inch in diameter and roll them in the confectioners' sugar. Place on a plate. Cover and refrigerate 24 hours before giving or serving. Store refrigerated in airtight container up to 1 week. Makes 24 rum balls.
