How did everybody in the hive fare with all those bad storms yesterday/today? I saw a tornado near Boston, one in Tennessee and one in West Virginia. I had a couple branches down, an outside chair flipped over and tons of wind last night.

I saw some lightning on my way to work. I was mad we didn't get anything, but then again, I'm in MN.
It was 95 degrees and humid as hell. We're just having Severe Thunderstorm watches issued for our area now.
It held off just long enough for us to be leaving the festival concert we were attending but then the 75-minute drive home was through an almost continuous apocalyptic downpour. I think it knocked something minor loose on the bottom of SWMBO's car. Wet basement, no real damage outside.
Very minor flooding in our laundry room due to an outside drain getting clogged that led to water building up at the bottom of the basement stairs and getting in under the door. We needed to clean up and organize that laundry room anyway. :P
We had a rouge thunder storm here in Southern California yesterday. A surfer at Venice Beach got killed by lightning and somebody golfing on Catalina Island also got hit but lived.
Astronomically low odds…really bizarre.
We had one small but strong cell roll over us at 5:00am Saturday. Storms usually don't wake me up, but this one did. When I finally got up I discovered water had been deep enough to come in under our alley-side door. The alley slopes downhill AWAY from the door, and the door faces east(storm came from the NW).
LOTS of rain. Dime sized hail. No real damage, but driving in it was pretty dicey. Other parts of town got golf-ball sized hail.
It was nice to finally get some rain. I guess sometimes that comes with tornadoes. Whatcha gonna do?
We had a tornado here. It was an F-zero. I didn't even know there was such a thing. No damage here but a few trees down about ten miles away.

There was some wicked thunder when I was in the water this weekend down here in San Diego. Rained about 1.8th of a inch but very quickly so everything in my neck of the woods flooded out pretty fast.
Couple lightning touchdowns but no fires, this means el nino this year hopefully.
i had to run 14 miles yesterday afternoon so i welcomed the cooler temps and light rain. saw a few flashes of lightning but none were very close. running 14 miles sucks.
I hope everyone fared well.
All we've had is a serious case of Hot as berkeley. The heat index yesterday was 118. Today isn't any better.
By Saturday we are supposed to be in the 70s. Go figure.
I was on a ~40 foot high flat roof trying to drop a pair of 20 some odd foot aluminum multiband vertical antenna just before the storm rolled in, realized I was too late when I got a pretty healthy shock when I undid the clamps and grabbed it to pull it down. For some reason my friend thought he'd run ahead and try the other one, farther away from any earth ground, and pulled a good 3" spark off it while everybody was yelling at him to bail. Needless to say, the other one waited until the next day.
Terrible! the storm knocked out power at the local Volvo dealer so it cost me a day to find out rotor's are way way too expensive from them so it delayed me 24 hours in ordering them online instead
I don't think we really got hit at all. But we're in a valley that is often passed over by these things--Not always, but often.
Had a weird one around here. Man killed... at the beach!
