Here at the Indy household, I make sure Momma doesn't have to cook or do anything else.  Plus flowers, we always give her flowers.

How do you guys celebrate?

I do a lot of cooking so that wouldn't be any real treat.  The WORST DAY EVAR to go to a restaurant.  Lubing her up with a bottle of wine and letting her have her way with me is getting old, so I do whatever she wants.  Today is the first warm-ish day of the season, so it's planting, mowing, probably BBQ.  Going to go over the 914.

She's happy, that's all that matters.

I do 100% of our daily cooking already, but...  The 7 yr old and I just served up waffles in bed (the 7 yr old's idea.)

Money is tight, we've both been home a lot, I do most of the cooking... this is a bad example of a Mother's Day this year here; I have nothing for her and she got up before me to make her banana bread. I will go see my mom at some point today. Not sure if my wife has the patience to see her mom today.

Gonna repurpose a birthday card for wifey though. She will roll her eyes then laugh.

Fathers day this year will be similar.

The word of the day is spoil.

Wiffee loves her sleep, so she is still happily snoozing while I have the kiddos fed and watered.  I have some nice Boston Ferns in hanging baskets already hung outside for her.  I have a nice brunch prepped, chorizo quiche and a fresh fruit prepared.  Dinner will be some nice Sea Scallops and a parmigiano risotto with fresh bread.

Coffee in bed served in her new Yeti. Got kids ready for church. Sunday brunch. Now she's napping. If this don't make her happy I don't know what will.

Update: my mom has a cold, so not seeing her today. I made egg and onion sandwiches and smoothies for breakfast, and did 99% of the cleanup in the kitchen. Now outside with kiddo while wife is getting ready for a walk

Mom's tastes are simple, deep dish pizza from her favorite place delivered by her kid and she's happy.

It happens that this year is one of the 6/7 that mother's day isn't her birthday. But I still drug myself out of bed early with the kids, made breakfast, and got her a small gift (that I hope was thoughtful).

We also went to my in laws for late lunch, and much of my mils extended family joined us. So we played bags and shuffleboard and enjoyed the weather. Ate too much grilled food.

Lots of mother's day cards were opened!

Now we're home and we'll be video calling my mom shortly.

I hosted 3 generations of moms at my house. My mom came down friday and spent saturday, the night and today and will leave for home in the morning. She is amazing and a widow and living her best life. My wife of course, who got showered with love and gifts from our youngest. We had ribs for lunch that we bought from a local smokehouse and ate on our back porch, then hamburgers for dinner by my moms choice from the local Braums restaurant also eaten on the back porch. My Eldest daughter came by about 3pm with my grandchild and stayed through dinner. It was a good day. My wife's mom lives close by but wouldn't come over. Her parents are just like that, and we aren't welcome at their house. So that's life.

I spent the day with my parents yesterday. Mom got a card and a window hanger of birds.

I spent today with the wife. Made her breakfast, took her out to her favorite place for snowcrab for dinner.

Mom is 87 a still lives in her own house. We picked up her favorite bbq and took it to her along with some roses from our pastor. Then filled a flower bed with fresh topsoil so she can plant more flowers. Wife got a Cloud foot massager and didn't have to cook. And a call from her kids, before a nap while I watched the cup race.

My daughters cooked breakfast for mom (with no input from me, they're amazingly self-sufficient), made sugar cookies that spelled out "I love you", and let her snooze the afternoon away when we returned home from church. Pretty much my Wife's ideal Sunday, so I'm calling it a win.

My mom has been dead for several years. She was mentally gone awhile before that, so I really haven't had 'her' for a long time.

I still have my birth mom, who I talk to several times a year. I always call her on Mother's Day and my birthday, among others.  Without her, there would not have been the Mom above.

My father and I were never very close, so Moms are pretty important to me.

My mom was working all weekend but I wished her a happy Mom's day this morning and saw her this past Thursday and gave her stuff to her.

Mrs. TJ got a chance to sleep in and come to late church service this am. I was working production at church so I was there early. Mrs. TJ got a chance to relax today and her and I went out for BBQ for dinner.

Keeping with the not so cheerful theme, I don't know if mine is alive or not.    Last saw her when I was 15, I'm 67 now, and lucky to have been saved from her. I probably wouldn't have survived.

I had a wonderful mother in law, who's been gone for eight years, so I still got to have a good mom.

Martin Sports Car Club always has an autocross, and "moms drive free!"

Now that you know where I'll be, the question is if my wife wants to compete. She drove in her first event on Mother's Day last year and was actually pretty good.

I used to go photograph homeless mothers at a shelter in Columbus with a couple other photographers.  Full 3 light setup, Nikon camera, Best Buy donated printers and paper, and runners to take our memory cards to print off the photo and swap to another card while that happened.  Because we would photograph about 100 families in 2 hours or so.  They all got roses and a 5x7 print in a plastic frame.  Free food (in-between families!) and many thanks from the shelter workers and families, always left feeling recharged (& tired at the same time).

My mom totally understood and we got together another day.  But the main volunteer that coordinated the photographers passed away a couple years ago & everything fell apart.  I'm not even sure they still do it, stopped getting messages.

Now I'll go visit mom and we'll have dinner.  She'll likely try to pay for it.  And she has a new kitty to play with (thanks to me, the awesome son) so that will be fun.

Although there might be an autocross that day...
