back in the spring of 2008, the old GRM forum got replaced by the new GRM forum.  at that time, there was a post stating that the old forum could be found at

http://archive.grassrootsmotorsports.com

clearly, that's a dead link.  is there an archive of the old board somewhere?

Sorry, but there's no longer an archive. That's one reason we built our own forum software and host our own photos--we don't want to lose anything that's posted here, ever.

This should give you a decent source, it's not going to be perfect in all cases though (some stuff is missing in some snapshots), and it is a bit slow.  It's what I used to recover a very large thread in SimCentral that I though we lost, since recovered.

It goes back to 2000.  It's pretty interesting to look at some of the old board posts.

Anyone remember when the "SUV's Suck" post was?  I would be curious to see how that reads now, considering a large majority of cars on the road now are SUV "adjacent".

If someone has the time to dig through it and find the Amy thread, please do.

Pretty sure the Amy thread was after the new site/archive split and was deleted wink

I still think the archive site should be brought back...

Not saying this is the case here but on a board I moderate we have a hidden forum "Where the bad post go" that moderators just move post to and only moderators can see.  I kind of hope that part of the passing on of moderator knowledge is "Hey you can look up the Amy thread but you can never talk about it."

WTF is the Amy thread?  Who is Amy?  Why is Amy?

Part of the lore of the Amy thread is that it only existed for a brief time, like a brilliant shooting star across the GRM sky. A few lucky souls were able to view it's majesty before it disappeared from view. Talking about it now in hindsight really doesn't do it justice.

But can you find 2, and a daughter making 3, all named Amy? This isn't amateur hour son.

I was here for the Amy thread.  It was a thread on GRM seeking advice to a complex relationship that could have just as easily started with:
Dear Penthouse Forums, I never thought it would happen to me...

It was all written and with no pictures.  It was a little hard to follow the plot.  Or, maybe it was just the disbelief that made the plot hard to follow.  Either way, the posting generated more questions than it did answers.

Funny, I remember the gist of the story, what I fail to remember was who wrote it.  I seem to remember that it came from (or seemed to come from) a GRM-regular.

The star character(s) was named Amy.

At this point we should just let the rough outline of the Amy story turn into a Greek epic for future generations to read and enjoy. We could have our very own Odyssey.

From sources, it's been established that the original thread showed up between snapshots in summer of 2015. The way back machine does not have it.
