How to Get Scratches out of Glasses

It appears that I might have a scratch or two on my glasses. I've read of all kinds of remedies and hacks across the board. Anybody have any one they've had good luck with?

I find it best to go to the eye doctor and get a new pair. Bam, no scratches and probably an updated prescription. 

I've had eye places buff them out.

I've polished plastic watch crystals with toothpaste and they look like new. 

Never tried it on optical stuff. Maybe practice on an old pair and see how it goes.

Polywatch is another thing used for watches.  They have versions for glass and plastic.

Anything that doesn't harm UV coating?

Or, preferably, just removes that junk entirely?

Once, at a motorcycle rally, I saw a guy doing demos for just this, a liquid that you cleaned your glasses with and it filled in small scratches. He was like the Sham Wow guy selling snake oil, but I let him use it on my sunglasses and it worked. It may have been temporary, but it was good enough to get you through to the next pair you bought. I am kicking myself for not buying any, I have never seen it again.

I see these guys at fishing shows. 

I'm constantly dragging my lenses across the bottom of rusty cars.  I scratch them up, then get another couple pairs from 39dollarglasses.com.
