Dug out a nasty rose bush from next to the house with a friend last week. How can I kill the roots to keep it from coming back? Dump a ton of salt in the hole?

Transfer their care and feeding to my wife. No plants have ever survived.

I kept digging as much as I could out every summer, and they gave up after a decade or so.

Alternately, let them grow, and hose them down with Roundup. That kills pretty much anything with a leaf.

Brush b gon is ok. But you need to paint it on a fresh wound.

Strange... My rose bush died by itself. I never did anything to it other than prune it back when it started growing into the front walkway. Then one Spring it just didn't come back. I kinda miss it sometimes. It grew some pretty flowers.

Get the good stuff from a farmer or someone with an applicators license. Tough to argue with Tordon or Roundup.
