I found out yesterday that my grandfather was in a movie when he was younger. He had a small spoken part in one scene, essentially playing a version of himself. It was a war film and he played a squadron leader giving a briefing before a mission. I now want to track down this film so that I can see what my grandfather looked and sounded like when he was about my age.

The film was called "Battle Stations". It was a black and white film, probably made during the 50's. It starred Bill Bendix.

I Googled it and found references to it, now I don't know where to find it.

He got to meet a number of showbiz people while he was in charge of PR at Guantanamo. Apparently he saw Zsa Zsa Gabor naked while delivering her jewels to her dressing room.

did you try places that sell old movies? i know there is aplace here in Chi-town that alsodeals with old movies out out of print things..not sure what the place is right now.

that sound like fun that you can say you had someone in your family in a movie. When i was younger i knew someone that hung out with with all the teens that knew my parents that was in the party scene from weird sceince. the manager i worked with had a borhter that was a bad guy in the court room scene from the new bat man movie.

Here's the IMDB page. Looks like it's not available, several people are posting on there looking for it. Assuming it was once out on VHS, I'd probably set up an automatic search on eBay that will email you if any show up on there.

Usually Wikipedia will have a good bit of info on films. For whatever reason, not on this one, 'cept it was released in 1956.

Yeah, I found a lot of this same info, I'm just trying to figure out how to track down a copy that I can watch.

Dude, that alone, is the E36 M3!

I'll ask my hotrod buddys on a different forum if they can help. I'm surprised "Belle & Blade" don't have it.

Yeah, I thought that was awesome. He was helping keep things organized for some show that was being put on from the Naval Base. He was responsible for getting Zsa Zsa her jewels. So he takes them into her dressing room, and there she is without a stitch of clothes on.

When he starts to get nervous and embarrassed she asks him, "What, haven't you ever seen a woman before?"

"Well, yes but..."

"So it's nothing new. Do you have my jewels?"

"Umm... yeah... here they are."

He described her as: "lovely in all the ways and places that a woman should be lovely."

Something Weird Video has a fair selection of old and/or obscure movies but no listing for "Battle Stations.

Have you tried to contact the IMDB commenter's in the same predicament? The first one made his post in '07, and provided an email address. May have had some luck by now.

BTW, your Grandfather is awesome.
