youre a poet and dont knowet
What is pricing on them supposed to be like? I think the 2.0T track model looks pretty good.
I really wish you could get the torsen as a stand alone option though.
Hyundai has always been a "package deal" type manufacturer. I wanted a GT Sedan in 03, but not the leather they came with. . . too bad.

Recently as a matter of fact.
Cue the Subaru ad: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B1gzmagUEyQ&feature=player_embedded
The downside of such advertising, IMO, is that it implies that such flogging is mechanically acceptable. Try explaining that to your friendly Hyundai or Subaru dealer when said advertised activity fries your clutch, transmission, etc.
Nevertheless, kudos to both companies for manufacturing very cool and affordable products. That is exceedingly rare these days.
OK, where's everybody pulling the info on this thing from? I checked out the buildyourown site but I can't seem to find pricing info and whatnot.

press releases and insider info from the last 24 months. Some of us have been waiting on pins and needles for this car to arrive. Never thought the Genesis Sedan would arrive either. But look at it now!

I saw that, and wondered to myself, "then why does the rest of the world call them hyun-de?"
It appears they don't trust us to pronounce their name correctly, so they've dumbed it down for American consumers?

^ Will answer all of your questions. 210HP 2.0T or 306HP 3.8 V6. I really, really like the way this car is sounding!
Any idea on how long before it's on dealer lots?
Oh and also, might want to wait anyways as the press release I read on the annoying site said something about a "Tuner" model (Brembos/Torsen/etc with no leather/sunroof/satnav) for cheaper.
Please be on the ball with this car GRM! It's the second coming of the Thunderbird Turbo Coupe, Nissan 240SX, and original Mustang all in one!
Also, does anybody think Mustang sales are about to take a massive hit? The 300HP 4.6L V8 in those is already outclassed by the 370Z and the V6 Camaro, but now a Hyundai too? And all 3 are lighter...

Ford GT and the V8 M3, that's about it.
My friend over at my former employer said they are expecting their first delivery First week of March.
As I said in another post, I've NEVER considered buying a new car. This one is starting to change my mind. The 3200lb. curb weight for the 2.0t is a little porky, but we can thank Uncle Sam for that.
And I love how Hyundai is getting cocky with their advertising:
Hyundai Genesis Coupe Brochure said: Every new sports car receives a similar greeting: a welcome committee of the established players, comfortable with their role in the game, dismiss you as an upstart, a wannabe, a poser. It happened to the Z and the NSX, and even back in the day, to Porsche. And it’ll happen, we figure, to the new Hyundai Genesis Coupe. But here’s the thing about performance cars–they’re all measured by the same yardstick: by the stopwatch and the skid pad, by power-to-weight ratios and gear ratios and coefficients of drag. And if that’s the criteria enthusiasts use to judge our new Genesis Coupe, we like our chances. A lot.

I suppose. But I also think he's an incredible artist.
WTF?
Back to our regularly scheduled program... I drove one last fall, about an hour's test drive. On track too. Nice handling car. The previous flagship, Azera was kind of a Korean Buick... but the Genesis feels a lot like a Benz.
The whole thing was filmed at Road Atlanta... you can see parts of the backstretch, the front stretch and the esses in the commercial. (in addition to the 10A &10b complex)
Very cool!

If by incredible you mean whiny bitch, then yes.
R-spec FTW. Too bad the wheels have to be so huge, but the price is better than I was afraid it might be.
Hyundai has the ball, that's for certain. We'll see if they can make the play. There are lots of cars out there that were great on paper but a disappointment to drive.
You can bet there are folks at the other manufacturers watching this car very closely, too. Hopefully they'll follow suit with some nice, affordable sports cars.

When you consider the fact that it was probably necessary to make the Brembos fit, I don't have such a problem with it. I will definitely be trying to find one of these to test drive when they start showing up. The R-spec sounds like exactly what the WRX TR should have been but wasn't.

Yeah those are some LARGE brakes for a car that size...
So who's going to be the first to assault this thing with a 3" exhaust and a boost controller?
You'll need to log in to post.
