First time I turned it all on. It all worked. I'm so used to having to redo everything at least once.
Behold! My glory!
Well, other than the itty-bitty video card, the 4080 I ordered was (literally) a brick. Luckily I did a chargeback on my card. So now I have a 4060 and I doubled my RAM while I wait for something to come about on a reputable site.
Now I just have to install everything, and update the BIOS. Bleh.
Anyone have suggestions for a good UPS so I dont have to worry about power issues while BIOSing?

Very nice. My jam was an Athlon and a pencil.
why so much RAM? (Not that you can have too much...)

Solidworks, mostly.
But also, it was relatively cheap, so... why not?
There is undeniably something about putting together your own system, even if you end up spending more. I guess that's why I'm still putting together systems.
Nice work! Enjoy!
Sweet, now you're future-proofed to at least Solidworks 2025 sp4....

God help me, you might be right.
That is a looooot of ram! Nice!
My hat is off to you. I built my sim rig in December, and I had to RMA three motherboards before I got it to boot.

Now.
How do I get rid of OneDrive, the AI thing, and all the other BS that MS loves to shove into the install?

Install Linux
On a serious note, I believe OneDrive will keep reinstalling itself after you get rid of it

That's why we all love working on our cars! That sense of pride knowing this dummy with two hands built something awesome lol.
Also! Don't forget to update bios and enable XMP or all that ram is just accent lighting!

Oh, definitely need to update the BIOS. Gonna get a UPS before I do, though. Might be worth an advice thread.

Last time I built my own rig, I got a bad board and it caught on fire about 8 minutes into a stress test. Fun day.
Love it when a new pc fires up for the first time!!! Congratulations!!!

I can send an enterprise grade UPS to the challenge if you want.

I'd love that! Thank you!
Thats overkill for Assetto Corsa or Doom... what are you doing with this thing?

But can it run FS2024?
With 192G, yeah, it oughta be able to.
