My Kids love riding in my new to me miata. My wife dosen't like convertibles or fast cars.. After giving my kids all individual rides tonight she goes.. "Wouldn't it be great if you had a car with 5 seats in it so we could all ride together"
I'll take that as a win..

But seriously, I've owned a '96 Miata since 2000. I've been the sole occupant in it for around 90% of the time, even outside the garage.

Much smarter plan, because the stretched hard top is probably going to a pain to put on and take back off.

My four year old loves the MR2 Spyder and has taken to pointing out all convertibles on the road. I should take her for another drive in it..
I was about to post a snarky reply with a horrible non-enthusiast convertible but...most of them only seat four?! I thought for sure the Murano...thing...would seat five, nope. Chrysler 200 rent-a-vert? 4.

My girls like riding in the FX16 so much that I have delayed moving the rollbar from the parts car. My oldest got her first autocross ride in it a few weeks ago. All of a sudden, her and her mom are fighting for the passenger seat for autocross rides. My wife never cared before!
Rollbar has tabs for the harness making it unsafe for backseat passengers. Not to mention the ingress/egress difficulty to the back seat. Yes, I also need to reconfigure the rear supports without bends.

tangent.. what did they do with that "roll cage".. It looks horrible with the top off.. The laid back window also looks goofy.. My 1st car was a 71 cj5.. so I'm biased.

Yeah, it looks kinda bad with the top off completely. It looks much better with the top flopped back. That's how 95% of the owners will "drop the top" anyway.
You would hate how the new Jeep windshield folds down. The glass folds down, but the "rollbar" stays in place. Here's me folding down the windshield at the auto show last year (and half of Mental's face behind me).
The glass itself lays down, but the frame is still there. Blech. At least you don't have to undo brackets like the JK, that was pain.

Even without the tabs I would never put someone in the backseat of a car that has a roll bar.
