The past year has been rough. One year ago today, a very dear family friend passed on. Tomorrow will be the anniversary of not only 9/11 but also it will have been 1 year since my nephew committed suicide. Today I just found out that an old friend and former co-worker was found dead of an Over Dose.. they think of heroin.

September is a bad bad month

Aw man.

If it's any consolation it is 1/3 over already.

Sometimes my problems don't seem so big.

I feel for you, but you need to stop thinking about it in that way. You're setting yourself up for a solid month of depression every year. It's not September's fault.

^Yeah! Some good things happened in September. My birthday is 13 Sep, my son's is the 15 and my daughter's is the 20th and have a nephew that has a birthday the 27th of Sep. Good month for us.

First off Mad, condolences. I've had some times where stuff like that stacked up, and it does make you dread certain months, even if you know there's no actual reason behind it. Head down, keep moving.

If you do the math, it's actually January that was the GOOD month...

My birthday's the 14th, so it sounds like we've got this one covered.

Plus my wife and I got married 20 years ago on the 23rd! It's a good month.

(hope that helps... )

2 words: Pumpkin. Spice. Whether the implications are good or bad is up to the reader.

Mad, I'm really sorry to hear about your losses. But it is possible to let go of the depression and pain without letting go of the memories. Honor those you've lost, but don't get lost in the past.

My sister killed herself in September almost 20 years ago. It takes a while, but it fades. I usually forget the date until after it has passed even though it's tatooed on my chest. Time and a full life takes care of a lot of pain.

Yeah this month sucks. Friend of mine who was deployed at ground zero after the first plane hit, called me @ 11pm last night. She just wanted to talk. So this has been a LONG day...

As Mazdeuce said, Time, and a keeping yourself too busy to think about it help A LOT.

In reply to Wally:

I'm not paid enough to psychoanalyze. Listening to an old friend... EASY
