I don't like the design, but around here, bedrooms over garage space are taxed at a lower rate, so there a plus side there.
Oh wow... I just clicked on the link, and I know where that is.
I drive by that house all the time. He had two Cosworth Vegas out by the road for a long time.
It's rare to find homes with adequate garage space. Around here, it seems like you only ever get five garage spaces with a house that otherwise looks like a replica of versailles.
I for one, am glad to find that you were referring to your inability to change your place of residence and not that you were wearing a full-body cast.
Looking at the variety of cars and it has two kitchens makes me think it was income property at one time.
If I sell my four bedroom two bath 3000 foot Victorian with 1000 square-foot garage, in Connecticut that buys me a two bedroom ranch with no garage. =~ (

You're a boater, aren't you? This is half a mile from Lake Zoar (*not a real lake, just a section between two big dams on the river).
Having lived in a split level before...never again. Stairs. You have to go up stairs to get to the entry which sucks in winter. Then, you have to go up more stairs to get to the living area. Then back down two sets of stairs for the basement.
When I moved in my current house, it was freeing to just get out of the car and walk directly into my home without the need for stairs.
In reply to Scotty Con Queso :
yep, stairs are a constant inconvenience. Just moving a chair or table from one area to another becomes a pain in the butt.
Agreed. First thing you see entering the front door is the stairs, the only route from anywhere to anywhere else in the house, always untidy or worn.

Thanks for the pic link. The owner 1000% has serious trailer backing skills! Me on the other hand it would take a week to get that thing in there!
Having that much garage space is not necessarily a good thing. No matter how much space you have the amount of crap you own will expand and fill it up.
I have 4 and 1/2 bays worth of garage space. I can only get 2 cars inside. The rest is full of tools, parts, projects, and all the other miscellaneous debris that garages collect.

This man speaks the truth. I have a two car garage that is filled with bikes, toys, games, etc. on one side and my tools/parts/etc. on the other. If I had a third bay it would either have an inop project or tons more junk in it.
