I couldn't find the old World of Tanks thread

...so here's another!

   Is anybody else still playing?

   I started fooling around with it again on my nights off when everybody else is asleep and there's nothing to do. I'm either Yeti_McHaggis or Fizz_Hooligan depending on which account I'm using but, regardless of which account I'm on I have a powerful bullet magnet and papier mache armor. I usually don't go beyond tier V since the fun drops off very quickly beyond that point and I don't feel like buying special ammunition with real money. I've gravitated toward the tank destroyer line, as I usually wind up sniping anyway.

Bringing back some memories here. I used to play a fair amount of WoT. Was in a squad, etc. I was never very good, but it was fun. I looked into it again recently but elected not to pick it up as I believe the parent company is russian owned. Maybe I'm mistaken on that.

TDs were always fun. And artillery. Interesting that Tier V is still the sweet spot, ten years later.

I am wondering if they have made adjustments to some of the Russian tanks, e.g. the T-90 (which I think was considered one of the better ones in the game) based on, "cough", recent events.

I started playing on the Xbox about a decade ago.  Had a good many Tier X tanks.  Then the Xbox died, so I started over on the PC.  I'm an occasional player.  I think they're working on beating the fun out of the game, so I play a lot less than I used to.  I'm never going to be spending real money on the game, so I'm realistic about what I can accomplish.  Even so, I still finish near the top of the team every so often.  Just had a good battle in my TOG, of all tanks!  I also prefer artillery and TD's, but also play heavies.  Medium tanks and light tanks are just weak bullet-catchers when I drive them.

I sit just me or is the T40 an absolute turd? I keep getting casually slaughtered by tanks and TDs that are invisible to me but, can apparently see me plain as day. I didn't miss that kind of stuff at all LOL

I worked my way back up to the Easy 8 Sherman specifically so I could have the Ford GAA as an upgrade option. :)
