One of the few times I'm thrilled to volunteer for a field trip. Kids are going to the Nissan Plant in Canton, MS in two weeks. The wife and I get to go along and chaperon. They make the Altima, The truck and that new "NV" commercial van thing as well.
It may not be thrilling for some people, but it is a rare event for me. :)
OOOO, I wana go. I would also try to bring back an Altima as a "souvinier"
only if you bring one back one part at a time......in your munch box...or your frineds moblie home......
LOL, I just listened to my new new Johnny Cash CD last night and "One Peice At A Time" was on there
P.S., make it a coupe, as sedans only have CVTs
Car plants are cool. I have seen Tauruses, Odysseys and assorted BMWs built, and no matter what the vehicle the process is always neat to watch.
I got to see the innards of the Rouge River Ford Assembly Plant. That was pretty cool.
I made it to the Corvette Museum and almost into the actual Corvette plant, which is my holy grail I suppose. We've also been in the Mercedes Museum at the plant in Alabama (they had an age limit on kids as well). Kids aren't quite old enough yet: just two more years for the 'Vette plant. Funny, they can go into the Nissan plant now.
Engine plants are awesome! I'd give up something serious for one of those automated, robotic silicone gooping machines.

I read that as "robotic silicone groping machines". Made it much more interesting.

Same here. By the way, the Odyssey plant in Alabama does it all: engine casting and assembly, body stamping, and final assembly. It's neat seeing the entire process, starting with the casting of engine blocks.

Once again replaced by a robot

The Harley plant in York PA has a really good tour. I'm not into Harley's but it was good.
I had a friend who worked at that plant early in his career. He said it was nice.
