So, I have some cool cars. A rowdy lowered 92/94 ish Miata, a nice mostly stock 1990 mariner blue Miata, a fun 1994 wrangler, and a comanche (which is for sale http://grassrootsmotorsports.com/forum/200x-classifieds/1988-comanche-40-4wd-ax15-swapped-1800-obo/63621/page1/#post1189822)
But you know which car has a "if you decide to sell" note? My 1994 escort wagon! It is solid with a 5 speed though, so I can't blame him. I just think its funny that it gets the attention. I called him, he was legit, but I'm not directly in the market to sell it though.

I put a note on a purple 1995 wagon 5 speed the other day! Kinda one of my unicorn cars. Pink (dusky Rose) will work too!
Bruce
people like them up this way for work beaters.. they like the wagons because they still have room for stuff...
Last week, I had a valet(*) ask, “Are you thinking of selling anytime soon?" when he brought up my ' 04 WRX. “No, I just hot it about a month ago."
Down the block, though, I thought, “Damn, I should have said 'yeah, for $(50% more than I paid for it).'"
(*)late-20s kid, I checked my odometer before I got out. Didn't want a Ferris Bueller indecent.

Cooler than a Miata.
You shut your damn mouth.

Drove my '67 Amazon to a music festival on Saturday and got a " Love your car, good job" note shoved in the driver door handle. Always nice to know other people have the same "eye" you do.
Ten years ago I see this Z in a corporate office parking lot - I leave my business card and note stating that it is a sweet Z. Five years ago I run into him at a Friday Night Car Show (Import Night) in the same town. We start talking and I told him I left a card and he claimed to still have it in his office. I pull the "if you ever want to sell......I now see him every year and I have worn out my welcome.
Last year he told me about his son working on the car. He states he bought the Z when he got back from Vietnam and that the paint is all original. Another original Z owner stood there and told me it was pure BS on the paint.
If it was in MO, I would say that it was Clem as he has been looking for one forever.

I had a '91 Tracer wagon. The first new car I bought. Had the 5 speed. I wanted it with the BP engine....a Tracer LTS wagon. That woulda been nice.

In a weird twist of irony I still see this positively:

10-12 years ago I used to see an orange early 240Z parked in a garage on a cut through I used. The car never moved. I got the phone number through a city directory and placed a call. The car still belonged to the original owner, a middle aged lady. Her father had bought it for her when she was a teen. She wasn't looking to sell, but didn't seem real resistant because neither of her kids wanted to drive the car. I told her to call me if she ever wanted to sell. Several months later the car was gone and I never got the call.
I love my doom-wagon. Added heavier coils to the rear struts and it will support some good weight out back.

I love my Escort. I added some 550lb springs in the back and it rewarded me by blowing the motor in spectacular fashion.
I loved my 95 but one little excursion off the parkway and it folded like a cheap suit.
I blame Kevin for making me go "Whoa, Tracer!" every time I see one. Then realizing it's a berkeleying Tracer.
You can't build that for $2k! No way you got that car for free!!!
Note: This is was the wrenching weekend that prompted a "We've been informed that you're running a paint and body repair shop out of your home...." letter from Kevin's HOA. He went on vacation a couple weeks later, and we seriously considered having "Kevin's Paint and Body" vinyl made for his garage doors while he was gone
I hit the part of the rock they didn't carve away on my way home from too many hours at work.
Years ago I saw a clean MKII GTI in the driveway of my shop. I introduced myself to the owner (who was getting his Eurovan serviced) and mentioned "if you ever want to sell..."
He was the original owner and it had 191K on it. He said he wanted to get to 200K before he sold it. About a year later he came in with the title in his hand and 201K miles on the odo (on original engine and clutch!).
Wish I could have afforded to keep it around as a 4th car
