Hero is not a big enough word.
When I was in high school the head custodian was a guy who had a similar record: WWII, Korea and Vietnam, airborne, MOH winner. We never knew a thing about it until the day a new Vietnam memorial was dedicated and he showed up in dress blues with enough fruit salad to cover his chest, hash marks to his elbow and the MOH around his neck.
I have to try to remember his name and see if he's still around.
But that's Fox news, you can't believe them!
